having totalled a bike on Dec. 20, 2010; I feel damn fortunate to have scrambled up to my feet, with only a sore butt to show for it. yours was a very simple accident, by comparrison to many others. too many bikers never make it. you have... and you are lucky.
best wishes to a full recovery. mine was a cake walk, compared to yours.

Like many of the folks on here have said, the doctors can be pessimists. Fool them all and get back on that Spyder!

Bill...I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune but, as I always say when I hit the wall, it could've been worse. As bad as it was, when you're on the grass it's always better to look at the blades and not the roots.
I look forward to seeing you soon. Maybe the Owners Event?

Sorry for your accident, the spyder is just a toy, your what's important and we are glad that your still around. Just don't give up on getting better. I have seen countless people whine poor me and never regain any function after their accidents. The people who don't always do much better. Take care Bill

I wish I were a hero in this . . . The kid was in front of me so quickly that I had no chance to brake or turn -- at least that is what I recollect . . .

Add to that a large dose of admiration and respect - while we will never know it as a fact, and while your actions resulted in you receiving serious injuries, they probably saved the life of another person. In moments like you faced, when the biker rode into your path and with only instants to react, you did the BEST and BAVEST thing that any of us are capable of - naturally, because that is the kind of person you are.
In my book, that makes you a real hero.
I'm glad you are still with us, but I am sorry to hear about all the pain and loss you are suffering, you deserved better and at least another 15,000 miles.
Please stay in touch.
