These are pretty cool, you can't stand on them but you can straddle your boot across them. http://www.esicycleproducts.com/spyderscuffguard.html
(and they only cost a hundred bucks a pair!)

I think Kewlmetal make a decent pair of brackets and Kuryakyn makes some good pegs ?

Hang on guys, I plan to have an RT SM5 Seal FloorBoards ready in June. Have had a ton of requests but need to get SpyderFest behind me before I can do it. I'll be looking for input from some of you whiz technos at SpyderFest.

I have been using them for 4 months and they do the job without the big investment. They look good too. Disadvantage would be that they are not adjustable but they are perfect for my 5'10" frame.

I made my own and have about $75.00 in them+/-. It was a lot of work and requires a welder and other metal working tools most don`t have but if you have these tools and want info let me know. They attach to the upper round frame rails.

I am sure you probably could but it almost has to be custom done as you go. I will give more details on here later when I have time. Just had a few min. right now.

    Default Pegs and Hot Air

Has anyone figured out how to redirect the hot air for the right side radiator vent away from you leg if you are using Hiway pegs?

They are just right for me. I just made them out of some angle iron and welded a tab on the other side. I rest my heal on the top of the fin. I have a design for some highway pegs that will work better and be different than anything I've seen to date, just need some time to play with the idea and test it.

    Default Nice

    Hey Lamont,

Those pegs look to be in the perfect position. Is there any chance you could talk us through making/install?

Looking forward to your new set.

I have an ESCI setup which did have some cruiser-boards but I recently replaced them with pegs. They offer some alternate positions but I still need something farther forward so I can stretch my legs out a bit. Yours look like just what the doc ordered. Let me/us know when you get the new designs. I could be interested.

    (Unsolicited product comments)

I installed the Kewlmetal highway kit on an RT for a customer yesterday. The install went well, with some observations:
    • The instructions are great, its nice to have color photos and tool sizes included. All vendors should do this. And, there's videos too!
    • It helps to have the Spyder raised enough to get leverage on the torque wrench when tightening the bolts from underneath the bike. Someting as simple as car ramps or stacked wood under the tires helps.
    • I had to cut a small notch in the Spyder's lower left thin black plastic panel (the one directly above the stock footpeg) to clear the Kewlmetal bracket, took just 30 seconds with diagonal cutters and not visible at all.
    • The pegs/footboards and the extension links you use will stay put if you align the extension links during installation such that the weight of the rider's feet are tightening the bolts, not working to loosen them. And use Loctite, and use star (not split) washers. If this is not clear, please call, email or text me and I'll explain.
Overall, I do recommend this kit if you want to add highway pegs or boards to your RT.

Do you have any pics that are not thumbnail size including the mounting point?
