Yes. Mine usually kicks in around 210 miles on the tank--if I let it go that far.

I was with a large group and didn't want to make them all stop (lots of folks have the 1330 engine) . . . when we did stop, I'd averaged 31 MPG and only got 4.2 gallons in the tank.

That fuel gauge is nothing more than a device that tells you your tank isn't full, anymore!

Totally agree with you on that one. My '013 seldom shows full after a fill up and even when it does drops to 3/4 after a mile or so.

Whereas my wifes '014 has a pretty accruate fuel guage.

    Default My 2014 RT-S does

I keep a log of all gas fill ups, miles and gallons used, price per gallon and total odometer miles. On June 7th this year the low fuel light came on at 212.6 miles. I filled when it had 257 and it held 6.319 gallons. It was a nervous last few miles. It's never held more than 5.8. I think from what I've read on this thread, I'll fill earlier. One interesting note, every time the low fuel light comes after 200 miles, it's always gotten 40+ mpg.

There is no reserve on the Spyder gas tanks.......and because of the air pocket ( which is needed for expansion ) the tank will NEVER hold the listed amount. For some reason BRP lists the AIR POCKET as usable gas space but in reality you cannot get gas into that area .........Mike

    I know what is happening.
When you get down to where you're looking at the Low Fuel light; you are riding in a VERY careful and cautious manner...

    Yes, it does.

I have put 5.6 gallons in mine before. Average about 32 miles per gallon. That was with the light on for about 15 miles.

That is not very good mileage. I average about 40 MPG with my 2014 RTL.

Jack, you have to be a lot lighter on the loud handle than I.

It actually does, and I've found mine!
It seems to light up once you reach the point where the tank will take a bit over 5.5 gallons...
    Since the 2015 post:
I've stretched the tank to a 236.4 mile range, and it took 5.557 gallons: 42.5 mpg!

Still can't convince my dealer they need to replace it. Most mileage was 29. When I get close to empty I start looking for station.

I have an RS and I get about the same. Just about when the fuel light is on and off, i fill up and it takes about 3.7 US Gal. I get about 120 miles on a tank right now putting that much in. i dont over top it off just because they can be known to drip into the evap canister and stink like fuel. I'll avoid that and fill up more often haha.

The low fuel warning light on mine also pops on when I reach the 5.5 gallon (nominally) amount of room in the tank.
It repeats so accurately, that I now ride by the fuel gauge: not by the trip odometers!

    Default Reserve capacity???

    Re my 2016 ST-S...
The manual says "Fuel Capacity 6.6 gallons", but I was looking at the spec sheet on the BRP site yesterday and in addition, it lists "Reserve 1.0 gal".
Is this an indication of approximately how much gas is left AFTER the low fuel warning light comes on?
I have only had that happen once so far, after about 125 miles...and I was very nervous for the next 20-odd miles til the next depot.
    Thanks!

Yes. The light usually goes on for me at about 200 miles or so. I always fill to the same level each time. Run it up to the inner ring, stop, let it settle for a couple of seconds, refill to the rim...DONE.

The 1330's have somewhere around 6.8 US gallons. The most I have ever put in was 5.8.
