If you feel it's worth changing the Constitution, get in touch with your Congressman/woman. I don't feel it is worth it in this case. I also could care less what Ben had to say since I don't believe he ever saw bodies blown apart.
Thank you for your service. I spent about seven years in the Air Force myself.
I am interested in our security for the ages, not just for the moment. If what the TSA is doing is illegal, either make it legal (change the Constitution) or find a legal way to accomplish the same goal. I'm less concerned which, as long as in the end it is legal.
Since the Revolutionary War was in full swing during his time, it is quite possible that Ben, in fact, did see bodies blown apart. If so, he likely saw it in his own country, not on foreign soil. His wisdom is well respected and is established. Maybe we shouldn't discarded it so easily.
Again, thank you for your service. You have my deepest gratitude.

Old BEN lived in Paris from about 1776 to 1785.
He might have missed some of the KIAs.
He was a Diplomat [one of the best i might add] not a Soldier.

I julst flew through Paris and was selected for pat down. No scanner option but the pat down was no big deal. Now if the Italians could just locate my husbands suitcase we would be pretty happy.
On an unrelated note, no Spyder sightings so far in Europe. Did visit an old friend of ours who is restoring old Boondockers - Hercules motorcycles - 2 stroke.

Wow, I started this thread as a kind of light way to look at the idiocy that the security people have come to. BUT.
I wonder how the searches would go if everybody showed up in thongs and bikinis.

One of the unfortunate things with airport security is that there are so many holes in it, and so many interpretations at different airports. A lot of the policies in effect today are the result of incidents that have already occured. The old " close the barn door after the horse got out" thing. last time I flew I went through the scanner, was held up by an agent and patted down. Seems I forgot to take a piece of paper out of my shirt pocket. These folks have a job to do with the muddled instructions that they are given, it's best just to play along and do what you're told. I have experienced some nasty agents but mostly polite agents. Pay attention to the instructions and things will go a lot smoother. By the way, I've showed my military retired ID card and have been asked to show a driver license instead, go figure.

The amount of radiation received during the scans is the same as what you are exposed to during just 2 minutes of flying above 20,000 feet.
So you're already being exposed to hundreds of times of that radiation once you're in the air.
If people are really that worried about the radiation - they shouldn't be flying anyway due to the exposure you get once up in the air.
