I don't mind the Latino's celebrating Cinco de Mayo and waving the Mexican flag, as long as they don't desecrate the American flag in the process. CdeM is about the Mexicans defeating the French and a renegade Mexican army while we were fighting the Civil War. Napolean hated the US and was providing supplies to the Confederate states. But with the ruckus in Mexico he supplied his troops down there leaving the South high and dry for up to a year allowing the North to gain the upper hand. Who knows how long the Civil War might have lasted without CdeM. History would certainly have been different and there might have been no Spyder in the Smokies and Cuba.

    Viva the USA and Cody!

Now lets try to control the border.

I fly the flag in front of my house 365 days a year.
I will not put a flag on any vehicle not made in the USA, That includes
the Spyder. I am a Veteran and a proud AMERICAN. That said if Conscription [the draft] were brought back, and your Sons,Grand Sons,
And now Daughters,Grand Daughters were to be Drafted [forced] into the Military,
How would that play out '' Patriotically wise''??
    Just some food for thought.

Yes, it was around the mid 80's or so. I remember when they did away with "swats" in the early 80's when I was in Jr. High (which I guess they call middle school now). I remember going through high school without saying the pledge of allegiance. Never understood it back then, but today I see it. Gonna stop there, might get into trouble for saying something that could be too insensitive and offensive and I'll be sued.

Here's a good history of how the pledge came to be:

    Spyder #1 - 2008 GS SM5 Premier Edition #1977. RIP after 80,000 miles.
    Spyder #2 - 2012 RT SM5. Traded in after 24,000 miles.
    Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.
    Spyder #4 - 2017 F3 SM6. Too good of a deal to pass up!

To each his own. IMO I don't see the necessity to check to see how many parts of a vehicle are made here or somewhere else. I honor the flag and those that have served, not the vehicle.

California court rules illegal immigrants can get in-state tuition
The California Supreme Court has ruled unanimously that illegal immigrants may continue to receive in-state tuition at California colleges and Universities.
The decision overturns a lower court ruling.
In their ruling, the state court said California law specifically guarantees in-state tuition, a lower price, for students attending local schools for at least three years.
In their ruling, the court said that state law does not conflict with federal prohibitions for educational benefits for illegal immigrants ased on residency.

Have to remember to take the emotion out of such decisions and just look at the current laws on the books - which is what the higher court did.

Your representatives will have to come up with a law that is in line with the current Federal law that says such funding for illegals is a no-no (assuming this is what their constituents want - which I'm guessing most want the California law to mimic the Federal law).

Interesting case to watch-- CA wants to be more like the Fed in this case, where you have AZ wanting to be less like the Fed on many things.

Makes me wanna . We have our Sanctuary city of New Haven - All new haven residents can get these New Haven I.D. cards, including illegals. It was on the news - they were scared to get in line to get them but once a few of them did, the rest of them did. I swear we need to just split my state in half, put the bleeding hearts on one side and let that all go to Heck. If I didn't hold a job here, I wouldn't be living here. Maybe someday we can transfer out of here! And it won't be to California either.

They are doing the same thing in New Haven - it made our local news today:

And my kid has to bust his a$$ with student loans to go to a STATE school! This makes my BLOOD BOIL.

I was pissed when I heard about this. I would move out of California if I could. But now I am stuck in this house that I can't sell because it's worth nearly half of what I owe on it.

Well, at least the legislation would require these students to file for legal immigration status as soon as they are eligible to do so. Get them out of the shadows-- step forward and become a real American! Otherwise we might not ever find them and have them become real Americans.

The rider of the black RS Spyder in that video is SpyderLover "virginia" also known as "Gin". She was riding as a member of the American Legion and the Patriot Guard Riders.

I did read that part but you gotta live in Connecticut to understand how Connecticut works. Connecticut doesn't keep a watch for stuff like that. They don't keep track of pretty much anything. They've cooked the books for the last few years, and they let murderers out of jail to go and commit crimes again. No way are they going to "make sure" these people become legal - we are broke, we don't have the funds to enforce it, let alone anything else. If they make them become legal and THEN let them go to school. Would solve babysitting them.
