I believe that if you re-start the Spyder within 5 minutes of shutdown you don't have to go and push the mode button...
This is true, I've been getting up every 5 minutes all day and starting my RT just so I don't have to wait for the screen!

On a serious note, when my RT has problems starting after a hot ride, I attribute it to vaporized gas. When it starts and is just chugging at 500 rpm, I rap the throttle a couple of times and it clears right up. Had a Nissan 300 ZX that did the same thing here is SE Texas. Once they insulated the fuel lines, it ran well.

Hmmm, that is strange, the RT safety card looks a whole lot different than the one on my RS. I still like to read it before starting the engine though.

As for the bank robbery part, have you ever watched a show on TRU TV called World's Dumbest? One episode had a couple of guys that went to rob a bank on a scooter. One guy waited outside on the scooter while the other pulled the heist. He came running out, and jumped on the back of the scooter. The rear shock compressed, the driver gunned it, and the security guards simply pulled him off the scooter and knocked it to the ground. Hence why they were on the program.

Hopefully your RT would work better than that!
    Very Happy Spyder Ryder!

NOw THAT'S cool... I'm gonna have to follow your lead with the warning card. I wonder how long it'll take my Missus to notice the change?

In bank robbery 101 class I learned that you must always leave the engine running, have a full tank of gas and use a professional getaway driver to make for a more enjoyable and successful career in that line of work.

    Default Clam Happy

I'm just happy as a clam when the display comes up and doesn't read " CHECK ENGINE " ..... " CHECK ENGINE - CHECK TRANSMISSION " .... " LIMP HOME MODE " - Kinda like winning a mini-lottery each time. Especially when we're 100+ miles from home on a Sunday.

In the great scheme of things Spyder, the wait time is not all that bad considering dealer wait time, ordering parts wait time and waiting for the wife to get ready wait time.
