I have a Micron and I really like the deep throated sound. Many have said my Spyder sounds awesome

I had a 2 brothers single can on mine for about 20,000 miles - got sick of the loud sound even on slow acceleration and at highway speeds - I put a Hindle on and like the sound....just right, good sound w/o the loud drone on the freeways....

I changed to a Hindle, ran like crap, spit and back fired at low speed, rear cylinder ran to rich, fouled the plug. Talked to three different dealers all said you have to but a fuel control on or run the above 4000 rpm all the time. I take this as true because if you read about after market exhaust all recommend a fuel controller. I but the stock back on and all is fine, runs great. I just can't justify $600 for an exhaust and another $300 for a fuel controller just for a louder nosie. 1SG

I have put many a loud pipe/full header on my rice bikes and now like you I am not down with the loud sound even if you shift into 4th or 5th to come home late at night.
While I dont mind the sound of the stock pipe on the RT, I would like to hear for other RT owners who have changed and what there thoughts are.

I'm not buying it. All late model ricer are EFI as is the can am Spyder. With my ricers the computer just took care of the fuel mix as it does for changes in altitude and with a slip on. True with a full header then a power comander is in order. Just my $.02

depends on how wide band the 02 sensors are.

if you change air filter and full exhaust you will need more fuel as there is more air gong thru engine or it will run lean.

typically just a can exchange only doesn't free enough air flow to make a difference.

full exhaust and air filter with fuel mgmt will give your more HP

waiting for a full exhaust upgrade to be made and then go with the new fuel mgmt system coming out soon from dynojet with o2 sensor adjustment

Also depends on the mapping in the ECM. Some are more forgiving and have a wider range than others.

They offer a cone to make it quieter P1 I believe
I rode Harleys for years, even with the two brothers on mine I think its quiet
others may not

I changed my stock exhaust, I went with a two brothers M5. I had an S pipe fabricated at a muffler shop so now I have dual exhaust a two brothers M5 on each side. and I love the change, sound and response is great.

I too have the two brothers single pipe. I have the P1 tip and it made the Spyder run better. A little quieter too. Also have the K&N air filter. If anyone wants a clip, just let me know via PM.

I have a 2 Brothers on my RT-S and it has a good sound. No Juice box needed.

Just had one of BRP's Akropovic sport touring exhaust installed on my 2012 RT. Local dealer gave me a substantial discount, so I said "go for it".
Just a few miles on it so far, but a 3000 mile trip coming up late next week. The Akropovic sounds "great". Doesn't sound any louder than the original, but has a much healthier sporty sound. Original exhaust always reminded me of someone blowing hard into a split paper sack! Lol! Still pricey, but installed easily, and looks great, plus I shaved almost 15 lbs off of the total bike weight. Also, no re-tuning required, and it's covered under BRP's warrenty as an original accessory. I like it!

I have a Yosh on my RT, and like it. I also eliminated the CAT. It still pops a bit when cold, but runs like a scalded cat when warmed up. The Yosh sounds great around town or on the road.

The coming from a GW with modified exhaust and 6 cylinders to a twin I miss my "fine tuned Porsche sound." there are a few Hindle's around but they don't sound good to my old ears.

The stock muffler sounds good IMHO!

I wanted to see how my Spyder would sound and run with an open exhaust. I had a local muffler shop make a pipe up for me with a stainless tip. The sound wasn't too loud, I ran it for a couple of days, it wasn't obnoxious, but I guess my age caught up with me and I put the stock muffler back on. It's more comfortable when it's quiet. I am going to powder coat the pipe to make it look better an prevent rust. I may put it on when I run with my Harley friends.
