Gas Guage problems
I fill up with gas and now I get no bars, low fuel light, full full, 3 bars low fuel light, 1 bar. its goes all over the place. sometimes I take the cap of and it show full on the guage then the next time it shows low fuel light. I have only gone 58 mile on a new tank of fuel and you can see it has plenty of gas... Anyone else had this problem or heard about it.
thanks.

I had a similar thing happen last summer. The gauge would only register 2-3 bars when the tank was actually full. I was on the road at the time so just kept track of mileage until I could get to a town with a dealer. He pulled the instrument cluster, cleaned the contacts and reseated it. No change, so he thought the sending unit might be bad. The next morning, all returned to normal and it hasn't acted up since.

This is an odd problem. I had this type of thing happen one time and one time only. I filled up and it was 3 bars short...I ran the tank down as normal and got the normal mileage, but it was like the gas gauge got stuck or something to that effect. I now always take the key out to be sure everything is reset when I fill up...haven't had this problem since, but if this continues for you, most certainly have your dealership take a peek. You know you can get about 150 miles on a tank, but the gas gauge should reflect this with bars.
Good luck...
