Lamont! I think the word is out on how well managed this forum is and the willingness of the members to share their knowledge, and opinions in a civil way.(usually)

Lamonster, I would like to suggest that you develop some sort of startup message for newbies.

We see lots of problems and issues reported on the two forums. Folks need to understand that the folks with those problems are a minority. The vast majority of us are putting on lots of time and miles and are having absolutely no negative issues.

It is important that the negatives get aired -- but, they are a minority. Knowing such information might help prevent some of these new folks from entering panic mode because of what they read here.

Forums, by thier nature, bring out the issues more than the praises about a product, no matter what product the forum is dedicated to.
A MINORITY only in the number of issues, but a MAJORITY when it is your own Spyder. Been there, done that and that is why I am on Spyder number 2.
To the new members, post up anything, positive or negative that you feel is important. Thats how issues get resolved and ideas get passed around

Yeah a pop-up window, and make it look like a pull out safety card. And make them have to hit the mode button to clear it.

    Anyway,welcome to all the newcomers.

    Default One of the Newbies

    Thanks for the welcome!

I'm a new rider with the spyder as my first cycle. Purchased my red/black RS last month and put on over 500 miles. Love the cycle!

I'll be at the 2010 Spyder event on Saturday the 26th. Hope to run into some of you!

Default Thanks for the warm greetings & ALL the GR8 Info

Lamonster, thank you for your time, energy, passion & expertise not only with the Spyders but also this AWSOME site.

Don't mean to leave anyone out, so Thank You ALL!!!

    Quick question for everyone?

I'm a new (Frustrated) RTS owner. Bikes being held hostage at the dealer due to the SE5 Recall, & I just took it in for the 600 mile Break-In check, and also having issues with the tranny. I'm Frustrated cause I'm NOT out rydyng like I SO WANT TO BE

    Anyways, heres my question.
I'm a 39yo divorced male, just got my motorcycle Permit, taking the training course this weekend, nothing on my driving record, great credit rating, and I Live in KY which is a no-fault state. I've called many INSURANCE Companies, and have found that most wont even cover KY The companies that do, are all quoting me around $1100 a year for Motorcycle Insurance, My car for full Cvg was only $430/year.

I settled with progressive at $1075/yr
Anyone else have any suggestions, or is this just another one I gotta take???

    Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.

    dav~
Hope to soon be a Spyder Ryder

I don't know anything about KY, but you may want to check out Markel as I have heard good things about them and am going to check them out when it is time to renew my insurance. www.markelinsuresfun.com .

    Default Old Newbie

Glad to be welcomed aboard. Bought my RT-S Friday. Saturday and Sunday were cold with rain and hail. Today was the first time I could ride. A whopping 65 miles. My ride became a Methodist today. It only sprinkled a bit. Bike handles like a champ. Rode the super slab as well as in local traffic and so far all is well.
