camping
a couple of friends and i are going motorcycle camping the coming up weekend. I have some cortec soft saddle bags and a cortec tank bag that i had on my ninja....i attempted to put them on the spyder in the normal configuration, but they wouldnt fit...so my buddy said wait, lets try putting the saddlebags on the gas tank. it worked and looks like its supposed to be that way...no clearance issuse with handlebars or my legs etc. then since the tank bag wouldnt fit on the tank, we straped it sideway on the rear seat....it is funny that EVERYTHING now is backwards...the bike is backwards, my rear saddle bags are on the front and had to turn them backwards to fit, and my front tank bag is on the back...neccessity is the mother of invention i guess...took it for a test drive and all the bags stayed put, no moving....and no clearance issues
moral of the story, if u have cortec soft bags and a cortec tank bag...it will fit, if its backwards

Interesting. I have an old set of Eclipse soft bags. I'll have to look in to them for those times when I need a little more storage, but don't want to hook up the trailer.

I had the Cortech soft saddlebags for a while and was able to strap them on under the seat in the back.
Here are some pictures of them installed while on our Arizona trip in April 2008.
