    Default Helmet hooks

Read Ken Millers storage blog on the new RT.

He mentions helmet hooks under the seat. Does anyone know if these would work on my '09 Spyder? Locking my helmet to the seat seems like a great idea.

They are built in to the RT's seat underpanel. I seriously doubt they would fit on your RS. You might find a way to fabricate some, if there is enough clearance. In general, I don't care for them. I have them on some other bikes. Using them with the straps insstead of the D-rings is a good idea, thugh. It keeps the weather out of the helmet.

Sometimes it's impossible to get the D rings over the posts on some bikes. Here's a cheap and innovative solution for an extender:

Clever. I suspected the seats were different. Its a feature I have never had so its value is unknown though it looks clever in a pinch. I have a cable lock that serves the same purpose for helmet and jacket in a pinch.

    Thanks.

Here's another way some of the members lock their helmets_
