Question 2012-2019: highway pegs that do not interfere with breakaway floorboard?

I'm interesting in adding highway pegs to my 2019 RTL that would be positioned above/beyond the little black wind deflectors in front of the floorboards. The pegs I'm finding all attach to the bottom of the OEM floorboards, and the comment section for one on Amazon seems to indicate that the there's no longer enough clearance for the breakaway function of the floorboard to still work if you have to stomp on the brake in an emergency.

The slingmods guy gave me a weird answer about theirs, so I'm not completely sure he understood the question. (I think he thought I was concerned about braking in general.)

"Here is a picture of the pegs on the RT. As you can see they are spaced well away from the other components, enough that unless one had particularly large feet they would not interfere with one another. "

Do you guys have any experince and input?

I have the NBV highway pegs from Lamonster. Might be what you are looking for.

I designed and made sturdy metal brackets that were fitted into those wind wings ( so they were invisible )..... I could actually stand on them without issues ( 175 lbs. ) .......Mike

My advice would be to not get the pegs from slingmods. I have them and don't really like them. There is not very much adjustment, I can't get them far enough forward, so I get cramps in my hips. They attach to the floorboards, which is really not an optimal place to mount them. I might give the Lamonster NBV's a try. It's only money.

    Here is a comparison:

Champagne AKA hooker = floorboard mounted

    and

Asphalt Grey AKA hookie = frame mounted

    and

The mod I did so the right hand floorboard could still do the breakaway function. The floorboard once are a bit more forward.

Both sets are available. I have a medical situation that causing me to not use the foot pegs.

Very cool, and you're quite handy. I like the idea of the frame mounted ones, as long as they are sturdy enough.

I have a base model RT which has foot pegs instead of floorboards. Lamonster Garage has a set of pegs for my bike and they don't mount to the boards, but behind the black deflectors. Perhaps they will do what you want.

I added the Lamonster NBV (No Bad Vibes) highway pegs and am very happy with them. Good product, relatively easy to install and sit just above the wind deflectors you spoke of.

I bought the CanAMSpyderAccessories Floating "pegs" from Pierre, love them.
They're very low observable, protect the rain deflectors, don't affect the emergency break-away floorboard.
And at 240lbs myself, they support my weight and feet just fine.

I just wanted to close this out with a good word for user Snoking1127. We made a deal on his pegs, and he quickly shipped exactly what he said he would. He even went to the trouble of labeling parts, sending a link to an install video, providing a tracking number, etc.

He's a good guy, and can be trusted!
