Default Total Solar Eclipse over Vermont, April 8, 2024 - I'll be watching!

It will occur this April 8, 2024 ..... The next in Vermont will be about 80 years ( I'll miss that one ) .... My house will be in the eclipse band, and the epicenter will be about 30 miles north. ..... The epicenter will have the longest Total eclipse TIME .... Apr. 8th will be kinda chilly ( 50F to 25F ) so I may have to drive my car there .... I am buying certified " ISO 12312-2 & CE certified " viewing glasses currently on-sale for $ 1.89 ( free shipping from USA seller ) .... Yep they are cheapo, but you are only buying about 2 sq. inches of the film glued to some cardboard ..... Mike

Sadly I live in a part of the world that will not get to see this event, so good luck and I hope the weather will play along for you as you can't wait for the next one
I was lucky to view and shoot the Venus passage in June 2012, but would realy like to get to see a total solar eclipse once.
Here is the picture I took from the Venus passage.

The center will pass about 70 miles NW of us here in Ohio so we plan a Spyder ride that day. Round trip will only be 140 miles. We ride farther than that to get a good breakfast.

We'll be watching from the Texas Hill Country. Not staying overnight, as rooms in the area have been booked for 2 years. A (really nice) cabin in Fredricsburg that is normally $285/night is now $1500/night, 3 night minimum. And you can bet someone will pay that, but it ain't gonna be me. Capitalism at its best.

Will try to be present for it. I saw one from Minneapolis when I was very young in the 50's. Sounds like this one will be my last chance.

The " epicenter " is where the longest amount of time the Total Eclipse will be visible .... Vt's largest city Burlington will be close to the maximum amount of time .... however St.Albans and Enosburg will be slightly longer in time for the event ...... I found a map that shows the Exact path of the eclipse and it varies in shades of black according to the duration. I'm about 30miles So. of Enosburg, but still in the area of Total eclipse, so my time will be about 40 seconds less than maximum ..... sorry for the length of the explanation, but now you know the whole story ..... I just bought rooms in Gainesville at the Hampton Inn for $80 before taxes. Drive straight over to Paris for 4 minutes of totality. 2 hour drive.
