F3 Ltd - what kind of luggage bags do you use? Or a rack & extra bag?
Hey all,
I'm looking to do some overnights and want to know what kind of luggage or bags you guys use. I'm debating on the spyderpops bags, hopnel bags, OEM bags, etc. Also debating on a luggage rack for the top case and an extra bag. Does anyone have experience or advice? My wife and I will both be traveling. 2019 F3 Limited.
Thanks in advance.

The hard side luggage from Can am is good, but I prefer the soft side hopnel bags. You can fit more stuff in them than with the hard luggage. But, if you need to be carefull that you don't put too much stuff in them and then not be able to close the saddle bags, trunk, or frunk properly. In the case of the RT models, you might be able to close the saddle bags, but then have a hard time opening them, as the latch will give you trouble. Good luck shoping.

I bought a Sea to Sky thinking I was getting a custom set of semi hard shell bags with the deal. When the company eliminated the bags as part of the S2S deal I bought a set of four Hopnel bags and glad I did. I think there is less wasted space in the softer more flexible bags and the price is great also.

We now consider $1000 dollar bags made of plastic as a joke that the motorcycle industry got away with a few times with me.
I'm having a hard time finding hopnel bags for the saddlebags. Is it the hopnel 860?

The ones lamonster carries will FIT the RT and F3 compartments. They are NOT made for that specific purpose.
The nice thing about soft bags as liners....they will fit mostly, no matter what.

Anyone have experience with the top case luggage rack with a travel bag?? My wife thinks we will need it (she likes to over pack).

I have bought the Show Chrome Trunk Rack for my '17 RT-L; my '19 F3-L; and I now have one for my '22 RT-L. We like them.

I think the Shad Bag is better than the others. I easily can pack a week's worth of clothes into it without having problems... It's a very sturdy bag.

Back in the day when I was doing 'long rides', stuff bags worked for me. Hit the big box sport store, or Amazon for a source. Stuff bags are inexpensive, you can get lots of 'stuff' in them, easily for a week or more, even for two up. Rolling clothes works well. Stuff bags are a little more difficult to work with, but once you get used to it you know how it goes. If you have a rack, there are many water proof bags that will will on the rack. One advantage of stuff bags is they come in different sizes.
Starting with thr 2020 RTL, 47 gallons of luggage space is good.

I'm kinda late to this party, but I have an RT, and both Hopnel bags for the frunk and trunk, and went with the Spyderpops bags for the saddle bags. THe difference is night and day, the Spyderpops bags are tons higher quality, and in my opinion, worth every penny. I reviewed them and trying to post a link to that review. Good luck in your shopping.

Sue and I tour around Northern New England and the Maritimes alot. We bought soft bags at Walmart for the saddlebags and Frunk years ago, they still work great. We use Walmart canvas bags (grocery bags)for the rear trunk. They work great. You do not need to spend a fortune on bags. I would recommend soft bags over hard bags. On our luggage rack we use a small duffle bag. That is it. Bruce
