I just checked the weather map. Yesterday's wet weather has left the desert and has moved on to eastern Texas as it continues its journey cross country. Today is overcast here but otherwise dry. Temperatures in the 50s. The breeze is starting to pick up a bit ahead of another really big rain storm coming to us from California. That storm is expected to impact us late this evening and into tomorrow. It's going to be a real wet one. But, by tomorrow afternoon we should be back to sunshine. I'll be glad. I didn't buy my little convertible to drive around in the rain with the top up! It stays home safe and dry and Old Buick gets called into action when the weather gods are angry. Stay safe..... Jim

...Well folks the ice/rain is happening now. Luckily for me the temperatures are going up later this morning.
Currently we have overcast sky and 33°F.
The rain and warmer temperatures will make the snow disappear...........melt away.
So the lunch out with some friends is still in the place.

Today we will have off and on all day rain. High of 40°F.
Low at 37°F with rain showers tonight.

The snow and ice are gone. Last night's rain took care of it all. Foggy and 41 currently.

The current temp in Vermont is 27°F and partly cloudy. Feels like 21°.

We currently have a Winter Weather Advisory which was issued @ 3:39 PM EST lasting until Jan 24 @ 1:00PM EST.

What........ Snow Expected. Total accumulations of 1 to 3 inches.

Where....... The Central and Southern Champlain Valley of Vermont and New York, as well as South-Western St Lawrence County of New York.

When........ From 7PM this evening to 1PM EST Wednesday.

Impacts.... Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute.

Additional Details........ Snow will develop across the region from South to North this evening and tonight, leading to a slippery Wednesday morning commute. After a brief lull around midday, precipitation will return as rain late Wednesday afternoon into the evening.


There are no major storms forecast in the near future, but there will be a series of smaller disturbances that will have an impact on your goings-about over the next several days.

The first disturbance will come through this Tuesday and last into Wednesday morning with a round of light snow. Most of us will end up with about 1-3" of new snow out of this system, with a bit less near the Canadian border, and a bit more in the higher elevations of our Central and Southern areas.

After a lull in the action for much of Wednesday, the next disturbance will move in late Wednesday into early Thursday. This will be a little warmer, so what falls out of the sky will be in the form of rain. But with colder air near the ground in some spots, that rain could freeze up on surfaces, leaving a light glaze of ice. Those colder spots are in the areas East of the spine of the Green Mountains, the St Lawrence Valley of Western NY, and parts of the Adirondacks.

Another lull in the action will happen for most of Thursday. The next system will come through starting Thursday night and last into Friday. Again, that disturbance will bring mostly rain, but it could begin and end with a bit of wintry mix.

After a quiet but cloudy day on Saturday, another system will move in for Sunday extending into early Monday. That one looks like it could bring us more accumulating snow.

Temps will be staying a good deal warmer than normal for this time of the year, but it will finally cool down as we get into the start of next week.

...Well it has been raining for a while here. Currently 43°F lots of more rain on the way.
All the snow has melted away a now we have puddles of water in the yard.
Talk of some flooding issues in the low areas.

The high for today only 49°F with all day rain.

....Well yesterday was a full day of rain showers. I received over an inch of the wet stuff.
There is standing water areas all over the yard. No problems here because of the rain.
I hope you are doing well and staying warm and dry. Currently a lite rain and 48°F.

Low of 42°F with clouds.

Tomorrow will be cold with a high of only 64° , but sunny, and so it's a ride day!
After tomorrow it will start the 70+ highs- now that's why we spend winters in AZ!

...Man oh Man did it rain yesterday. I got an additional inch of rain. Standing water in the yard.
Currently cloudy sky and 44°F. Still No Problems here dealing with the rain. Foggy this morning till 10am.

High today only 45°F with some clouds.
Low at 37°F.

Sunshine, no clouds or wind and a high in the mid 60s today here in the desert. The cool, wet weather we experienced the last few days has moved on east. The next few days will bring warmer temperatures. By next week we'll be in the mid 70s. Getting ready to dust off the convertible and head out to the Friday car show. I sure wouldn't want to show up at the show with dust on the car!!!!! Stay safe..... Jim

...Well folks the Winter Snow has melted away, currently we have 36°F. The standing water in my backyard is gone. Going to be another Grey Day here in Indiana. The wife wants me to check the yard for tree branches and make them disappear. I have finished that little project and am ready for the next project. Saturday is supposed to be my day off. .........

I have a college basketball game that I am going to enjoy today.
Tomorrow is the Football games.

Today is a cooler day for us.
High today of 41°F with a little chance of Rain.
Low at 34°F with chance of rain/snow showers later tonight.

Sunday's high is 38°F with some morning snow.
Low of 30°F with a chance of evening rain showers and snow.

The farm ponds here are now full. More of the same until next week. A warmup to the mid 50's or higher is expected.

Sunny, 71, and a little breezy (5-8 MPH) here in the desert. No clouds. High today is expected to be 74. By next week we could be pushing 80 degrees. I love screen door 80 degree days! Stay safe..... Jim

...Well another grey day and currently 32°F. No rain in the Indiana Forecast for me. I still have some standing water areas in my yard. Grass is not as brown as last week. Maybe get an early spring. ....
You just never know what to expect anymore.

Coming up on a week of sunshine and warmer temps. 50's to 60's are predicted for us. Yesterday, I made the comment, "it's looking like spring."

It's warmer here in the desert. Expect the high today to reach 80. The overnight low will be 52. Both high and low are about 10 degrees above average for this date. It was a little breezy this morning but that has gone away. Looks like we'll be right around 80 degrees for the rest of January and into February. The furnace is off and screen door functioning! ...Well yesterday's little rain showers are over. The yard is so wet and soggy. Just walking around and picking up sticks I was making tracks with my boots. Oh well, better rain than snow for me. Spring is coming soon, I hope. Currently 32°F but it feels like 23°F. Going to be another Grey Day here in Indiana.

....Welcome to the last day of January 2024. I hope you were able to enjoy most of the time. For me it was very doable with lot's of good things. Currently we have cloudy sky and rain showers, at 36°F.
