....Welcome and Good Morning to you. Indiana has been very fortunate to have been snow free so far this season. We are really not into snow activities (skiing or sledding). I love the summer water activities (boating and swimming). A yeah, ryding my Spyder of course.

Happy New Year 2024. ............

This morning it was cold and rainy. The sky was overcast and currently 30°F with the wind chill its 24°F. I have a just a very lite dusting of something people would call 'snow' on the grass.
So sorry to hear that you are still waiting for some real good snow to enjoy. Here's a plus for you to get all the snow for your winter season. .....

Today we will have the cold temperatures with the clouds.
High of 37°F and low of 24°F.

This is a New Year and a New Month....January 1st 2024. .....

I am feeling good about this one and I hope that you will have a better Year than last year.
That's my plan.

Happy New Year folks!

First day starts with lots of snow and wind, so my snowblower has already been hard at work. Luckily, I don't have to go to work anymore, so no pressure there.
Temp will drop to about 23.5 F in a cpl of days so the snow will be lighter and easier to move.
Snow is laying heavily on the trees and some roads have been blocked during the night due to treefalls over the road. Some of the trees have also taken the powerlines with them when falling and about 4000 people had no power last night.
Spyder is under covers in the garage and on a tender, so all good in that department.

Happy New Year. 2024 arrives in our town with partly cloudy but blue skies. Sunshine and currently 1:28 PM, 36 degrees. The wind has a chill to it. Still no snow, but we can live with that.

First day of 2024 was good riding weather in south Texas. Temps in low 80’s*F, no wind, with a solid high overcast. Saw a couple Spyders and several other bikes/trikes on the roads today during my 84-mile ride.

2024 begins with cloudy skies here in the desert. It's currently 64 degrees and headed to a high of 67. No rain in the forecast. The breeze is less than 5 MPH. Cooked a big breakfast and now with a full belly, chilling out in the recliner and enjoying college football. Stay safe..... Jim

....Welcome to my local area weather news from Indiana. Currently cloudy sky and 30°F with the wind chill it feels like 21°F. Yesterday was a nice day overall. The sun was a no show.
Sometimes that's just the way it goes. Today is going to be a repeat of Yesterday. The wife and I enjoyed some great videos from our library.

The temperatures for today are 38°F for the high and 27°F for the low.

We had some sunshine here in Vermont today. We are heading back into the familiar cloudy ways again starting tonight. A weak cold front will be slowly sagging down out of Canada bringing the clouds back in overnight along with a few scattered flurries which will be on-off throughout the day on Wednesday. As the cold front finally moves through by Thursday morning, we will get a little batch of snow showers which could leave a couple of inches of snow on the ground by the end of the day on Thursday, mainly in the higher elevations.


After the front clears the area to our south, skies will clear out again on Thursday night, but that will lead to a chilly start on Friday. Overnight lows will be in the single digits to the low/mid-teens. Then we'll get the sunshine back for most of Friday before another week disturbance brings the clouds back later in the day, with maybe a few flurries again Friday night.


The first weekend of 2024 will start with a mostly cloudy Saturday as a storm system moves our way from the southern states. That system will strengthen into a coastal storm, and we will be on the northern fringe of this system. At this point, it looks like we will get some accumulating snow out of this system. Right now, it is too early to say how much we will get out of that storm.


It will be quiet again for next Monday and most of Tuesday, but another stronger storm system may be affecting us late Tuesday through Wednesday with possible wintry mix and windy conditions.

The current temp is 30 degrees & mostly cloudy.

....Well day 3 of 2024 and it's been a cold spell here in Indiana. Currently mostly clear sky with 26°F. Feels like 19°F. Going to see a little bit more of the sunshine today. That's a good thing if you know what I mean.

The high should be 36°F with some sunshine.
Low around 27°F. No Snow in the forecast and
No Snow on the ground.
Travel to and from the the Gas station, Food Store
and Doctors has been nice.

The sun is being filtered by a high cloud cover here in the desert. Currently it's 62 and heading for a high of 66 degrees. There is no noticeable breeze. Overnight low will be in the mid 40s. The clouds are expected to thicken with rain beginning about midnight. It'll only last for an hour or two and by sunup we'll be dry. Stay safe..... Jim

...Today is going to be about the same as yesterday. Currently mostly clear sky and 32°F. The TV news people are saying that we might get some snow showers this weekend. Forecast is for less than an inch.
I guess they think we need some snow. ....

High today of 35°F. Lots of beautiful sunshine.
No snow on the ground.
Low at 19°F.
Going to do the 'food store' and stock up on supplies.

The first four days of the year are on the cold side. morning temps (7:00 AM) are about 28-32 degrees. Afternoons topping out in low 40's. No snow, but a possibility of the flakes tomorrow. Time will tell.

It hasn't looked like or felt like winter so far this winter. But things are about to change. In fact, the "feels" part of that statement has already happened. The cold front that came through early on this Thursday with a few snow showers has brought in a good shot of cold Arctic air. The cold snap will be brief, though. After a chilly start to Friday, temps will be moderating throughout the day along with a lot of sunshine. A weak disturbance on Friday night might spread a few snow showers near the Canadian Border, but they won't amount to much.

THEN.............. Finally, some REAL snow will be coming late Saturday and through the day on Sunday. A coastal storm will be bringing a round of steady snow during that time, with the heavier amounts in our Southern areas. At this point, it looks like our Northern most Counties will end up with about 2-4 " inches of snow by the end of the day Sunday. Our Central & Southern areas are looking at around 3-6" of snow. The higher elevations of the Green Mountains in our Southern Counties will end up with 6-8" of snow or more.

That storm will be gone by Sunday night, and Monday will be quite day. Then get ready for a more active weather action! A stronger storm system will be moving in late Tuesday through Wednesday, and this one does not look pretty. Right now, it looks like it will start out with a wintry mix of snow, sleet, possible freezing rain, and just plain rain. That mix will change primarily to just rain late Wednesday. It looks like there will be strong winds with this system too, which could lead to power outages.

....Welcome to the First Friday of this year.
Currently we have a cloudy sky and 20°F.
Everyone is talking about the Winter Snow Track.
Here in Indiana it looks like we may get some snow.
The forecast is calling for an inch or two in the main pass. My local area may only get an inch or less. What ever happens will be later tonight. So after rush hour.

Today's numbers are 37°F with clouds.
Low of 30°F. A snow shower late tonight.
No Snow on the ground.

Everything is going well and I'm ready for a little bit of snow.

Although it has not looked like winter here our extended fall turned cold a few days ago and now there is snow on the ground here in the valley below the Hoeseshoe. I did get the batter tender hooked up to the new battery so all is set for the winter. Looks like cloudy today and snow today, no snow tomorrow then snow again on Sunday.

It's a crisp sunny day today here in the desert. Currently 47 degrees and headed for a high of 56. Very light breeze and a few high clouds. The ski slopes have been getting a lot of snow lately..... Yes, we have snow skiing in Arizona! My usual Friday car show now hosts over 400 cars. Lots of good socializing. Whether it be cars or motorcycles, sunshine reflecting off chrome is a beautiful thing!!!!! Stay safe..... Jim

We got the snow that was predicted. Here a few flakes, some of the grass is now tinted white. The snow has already melted off the road out front.

Today it was partly sunny, but we had a few snow flurries flying around.

Tomorrow evening is when the snowstorm will start here in Vermont. They have a Winter Storm Warning in Southern Vermont. They are expecting 6 to 10 inches of snow there. In the Central part of Vermont, they are expecting 3 to 8 inches and in the Northern Areas (near the Canadian Border) 2 to 4 inches. That storm will be out of here by Monday.

Then on Tuesday, another snowstorm; this will be a messy storm, we will get snow, then it will change to a wintry mix of sleet/freezing rain and eventually just plain rain. The temps will be warmer, and possibly there will be some flooding.

(Off topic: the snowmobile trails are still closed due to lack of snow, next week it is the middle of January, so the sled is getting restless! )

...Well folks the Snow is here in Indiana. I have 2 inches on the ground. The sun was shining and the snow has melted away a little bit. It is gone from my driveway....
Currently cloudy sky and 34°F.

Today we had 34°F for the high.
Low of 32°F. Going to get some more snow showers tonight and in the morning.

Sunday about the same as today.
34°F for the high and 26°F for the low.
Definitely a pretty sight to see if you are inside.
Driving conditions are not the best. Even though they put some salt on the roads.
Something about the first snowfall makes for lots of accidents. Go figure.

It's a hot coco kinda day here in the desert. Woke up to a good cloud cover and it started to rain lightly about 10AM. The rain is expected to last until mid-afternoon. Currently it's 43 degrees. The high will only get to 49. It's a good thing the rain will end because the overnight low will get down to 32! And most of you know what happens to rain when the temperature drops that low. In the nearly 20 years I have lived in the desert, there have been a couple of times when there has been a light dusting of snow. Pretty unusual, but it does happen. What's really pretty is to see the mountains that surround the valley covered with snow. Those mountains, especially the Superstitions, are visible from just about everywhere. Stay safe..... Jim

Just received a Nice 8 + inch dump of very dry powdery type snow ( and it's still snowing ) lately almost all the snow we've had has been heavy wet stuff .... I'll be strapping on the boards tomorrow and hitting the slopes .....Mike

Currently cloudy sky and 32°F. Most of the snow has melted away and we have a little bit left. The afternoon rain will wash the rest of our snow into the ground. Luckily I didn't have to deal with shoveling any snow so far. This made me happy.
I really don't enjoy it anymore.

Just received a Nice 8 + inch dump of very dry powdery type snow ( and it's still snowing ) lately almost all the snow we've had has been heavy wet stuff .... I'll be strapping on the boards tomorrow and hitting the slopes .....Mike

For some strange reason, last week, I had the urge to get my ski equipment out and hit the slopes too. It's been probably 15 years since I've been on skis. And I can be at the ski resort in about 3 hours. My better judgement prevailed. Chances are likely the Ski Patrol would have to remove my injured old body from the mountain. Even when I was much younger, I knew enough to work at getting in shape before heading up the mountain.

Today in the desert it is clear and crispy cold. Currently 43 degrees. The high will be 54 and the overnight low will be a chilly 31. The breeze is light.....about 2 MPH. There are no clouds. I'm a Washington State transplant and when I was working, my office was just 2 blocks away from the University of Washington campus. I will be rooting for the Husky's in tonight's national championship game. Stay safe..... Jim

The current temp in Vermont is 26 degrees, and mostly cloudy.



We finally got an old fashion snowstorm that made winter sports enthusiasts jump with joy.


Also, now another storm system is heading our way, but there won't be much to celebrate with this one.


After a lull between storms on this Monday, we will go right back at it again on Tuesday, starting later in the afternoon. After a quite start to the day, that system will be moving from our Southwest, starting as a round of heavy, wet snow which will move into our Southern Counties around 4PM and quickly spread Northward. As the snow comes down, the wind will be picking up out of the Southern Counties and finally the rest of our region by Wednesday morning. The rain showers will move out fairly quickly mid- morning on Wednesday.

The bigger deal with this storm will be the strong winds, which will be magnified along the Western part of the mountains. That is where we could see some wind gusts as high has 65 MPH. Winds of that magnitude could certainly bring down trees, limbs, and power lines. Widespread power outages are likely. The winds will settle down later in the day on Wednesday.

Once that storm is out of here, things will get back to normal for Thursday and Friday - just a few scattered snow showers are possible, but as we get into the weekend..... Here we go again! Another very simple storm system will bring another round of snow, rain, and wind for Saturday into Sunday.

They have High Wind Warnings out from Jan. 08, 2024 @ 3:36 PM EST to 01/10/2024 @ 7:00 AM EST. The high wind warnings are for The Northern Adirondacks of New York, Champlan Valley of Vermont, and the Western slopes of the Green Mountains.

Deep South Texas high temp today was about 85*F, with southerly winds of 30+mph, gusts to 45+mph. Then, about dark, the front blew through. Currently 64*F and falling, winds cranking from the north, headed for an overnight low of 45*F, and tomorrow’s high will be ~66*F, sunny, winds 25mph gusting to 35+mph.

...Well Hello Texas, I sure could use some of that warm weather here in Indiana. Any chance of sending some of it my way. Currently Raining here and we have 36°F.

Today it's scheduled to be an all day rain here.
One inch of rain is equal to 10" of snow.
So I am thankful for the 36°F.

Today's high should be 43°F with lots of rain.
Low at 30°F.
