    Default Christmas gift arrived

My wife bought me a Christmas gift that was delivered today via. Fedex. So she brings the box in the house and tells me about it ()and ask me to open the box to make sure it is not damaged (). Wow it looks good to me a Fender Telecaster Acoustasonic Guitar. Now she tells me to put it back in the box and I have to wait until Christmas to get my hand on it again .

It's going to be awfully hard to act surprised when you open it on Christmas. But that's what we do!

He must have been very good all year, got a cool guitar........

Not me, I get a sign with a cat on it and a dozen Chinese Kung Fu movies with a cast of millions. Guess I was not very good this year.

Also means I have grandkids with a weird sense of humor.

So, what do you think of the Acoustronic Fender ????

I recently did something out of the ordinary. I bought a "cheap" Squirer Stratocaster--just to check it out. I was going to pass it on to a newbie if I did not like it. I have over 15 assorted guitars, many considered medium to upline. At least five that I own are over $2K.

The squirer strat sounds just as good as my Fender Telecaster, which cost three times the squirer. I found no flaws or issues with the sub $200 guitar. I now play it regularly.

The Squires are great Guitars, I have a have a Squire Contemporay HH FR that to me is the best playing & sounding guitar I have. I like the sound of an Acoustic guitar and I have a Fender Redondo, but I'm not a fan of playing the big body type guitar. So Fender came out with this Acoustasonics that sounds like an acoustic guitar but with a small body and with a flick of the switch you can change the sound of the guitar from large body acoustic turn the knob and it will change to small body acoustic sound, hit the switch now it sounds like dirty electric guitar, switch to clean electric guitar sound. It has acoustic strings 11 to 53 bronze. I like it so far but I have to get use to the bigger strings. I like the idea of going from acoustic sound to electric sound without having to change guitars. So I will play it like it is for now but I may change the strings to 10 to 48 and put power pins on to make string changes easier. This is my first Telecaster, and like my Contemporay it has a 12" radius fingerboard that I like also.

Thanks for the information. I did not know that your new guitar has all those extra sounds. I have a half dozen LARGE flattops 2 acoustic and 4 acoustic/electric. They have that special tone, but are a bear to carry around and have strapped on for a long period of time.
