What is a “water management system”. Like peeing in the trailer?

Similar. Early versions of the trailer had a "water leak" situation. This allowed rainwater to run into the trailer when the lid was opened. The water management system was supposed to rectify it.

If you don't have one, it might end up feeling like someone had peed into your trailer!

But no, when they first came out, these RT622 trailers (that have TWO openings & lids ) tended to let water/rain get inside under certain conditions, basically due to the poor design/lack of adequate drainage under/around the lids & seals & where any run-off was channeled. The 'Water Management System' is a retro-fit correction for that.

If you want to do some searching and reading, there's a fair bit of discussion here on the problem & the solution dating from back around 2010-2012; more but not so much from 2012-ish until about 2015 or so; then not too much at all after that, especially once the smaller, lighter, single lidded 'Freedom Trailers' came out. Enjoy!

The trailers don't actually "leak"..... at least mine didn't. The rear lid opens tilting upwards and any residual rainwater on the lid would just run down into the trailer when it was opened. The WMS consists of a tray and drain that catches that water and drains it overboard. You can see the water tray in picture #4 just to the rear of the front lid opening..... Jim

Absolutely correct, the RT622 trailers do not leak. Our RT622, even in SoFlo torrential rains while riding has never leaked and the water management system works superb, routing water accumulated on the rear access door, to easily drain away from the cargo compartment.
Since both access openings utilize a molded in vertical lip that the seal is secured too, even water driven with reasonable force does not leak into the payload compartment.

The RT622 trailer is deemed by many owners that have had both a RT622 and Freedom trailer, that the RT622 is the superior trailer. Fibreglass construction is utilized in the RT622 trailers main body, unlike the Freedom trailer that is simple molded plastic, is a robust material that can be repaired easily and restore original strength if ever needed.

There is a reason the RT622, even over 10 years old retains a value near $3000. They are that good and even in demand by the folks riding two wheeled motorcycles.
