Default Decision time - what does "S" (sport mode?) do to performance?

At the end of next month, I will be ready to pull the plug on an F-3. The question is, just what does the "S" (sport mode?), do to performance?

As I understand it, all it really does is relax the "nanny" to allow a more spirited ride. Is that correct?

If that is all, I think I will go with a 2023 rather than wait for a '24 model. The '24, again as I understand it, has very few things that are not available on the '23.

    • seating for two. (although somewhat spartan).
    • the larger inst. cluster with a few goodies which I may or may not utilize.
    • a different method of shifting into reverse

That's about all I can find. I may have missed something, but I believe I can save $4G and have all I want with the '23 without the 4 or 5-month wait.

Am I correct in my thinking?

YES, YOU'RE BASICALLY CORRECT. You can save a lot of money with a '23 model vs '24. The "sport" mode was only available on earlier models of F3 "S".

    Have fun shopping!!!

On the S model, you get a better instrument panel, a gauge spoiler, better shocks, 2 up riding, sport mode, cruise control, bigger rear sprocket (faster launches). I think that's about it.

The difference between and 23 and a 24 model is going to be about $2K. i would go for the 23 if you can find one.

I have the 22 FS3 and the list of options is correct. the cruise control. shocks and S mode are the biggies for me.
