    Default 1950 Biker Wedding

Not sure if I've posted this here before but I just ran across it and thought you might like it.

Got to talking with a good friend of mine the other day and he was telling me that his mom and stepdad were bikers. When they got married they were married on their bikes. His mom rode and Indian and his dad rode a Harley. They were affiliated with a couple of clubs back then and they all showed up.

The wedding was if front of his grandfathers bar in Lemon Grove CA. and there were around 200 bikes that showed up for it. His mom was not on her bike because the day before her bike was getting tuned up for the wedding at San Diego Harley Davidson and the place burned to the ground along with her bike. The El Cajon dealer (Chuck Hollinda) let her use one of his bikes for the wedding. I bought my first Harley from Chuck when I was 17.

The pictures are old and have been scanned and blown up but you can get an idea what it was like to be a biker back then. His mom was also the first women to work in a filling station. I guess she was a good wrench too.
Enjoy the pics, I know I did.

    Interesting, Lamont.

BTW, I also bought a HD from Chuck in about 1996... when I lived in Poway.
