Anyone had the ACS Air compressor replaced?
Just told yesterday I need a new air compressor for the suspension. It is making a load noise and dissipates as engine warms up. Cost of small pump is $400. Just watched video of installation and was staggered. Must remove all tupper
ware plus saddle bags, seat top box and rear splashguard. Was told about a week to a week and a half for pump. We will see. anyone had this done?

Jack if the dealer is removing that much " tupperware "|, the $ 400 you mention might be the cost of the pump ONLY .... good luck .... Mike

Search for "viair" as the replacement compressor.

You are right Mike. That price was for the pump only. Expecting at least twice that if not more to get it out the door. I watched a video of replacement and it requires complete removal of all tupperware, seat, bags, topboxe etc.

Hi Jack,
My pump failed because of leaks in the "system'. There are too many connections in the "system" one being a swivel connector. If they just replace the motor, the leaks may still cause the new motor to fail again.
I just ran a line ( just cents) from the Schrader valve to the air bag. ( many here have done this) and it stays at the set pressure for months. It's not hard to do. Contact Joe and Anne Meyer of Squared Away.

Another Spyder rider, on a different forum, had stated that after removing all the necessary Tupperware, it took him approximately 2 1/2 hours to complete his ACS with Bag changeout. And that was also replacing the rear shock.

Well too late now, just took it to Sierra Cycles in Sierra Vista AZ. About 110 miles from here. This is on a RT Limited with the auto level system. If this happens again (I hope not) I will consider doing what you did Lew. Thanks for the post.

It really is the cheapest and fastest way to solve a stupid set up!! For what that system dose for you, and the amount you adjust the thing really, it's easier to pump it up to a set pressure and walk away! Good luck Jack!!

Jack +1 What Lew and Mikey have said, I changed my '13's system to a straight line from the valve stem under the seat to the top of the bag, haven't had any problems since and I just adjust the pressure before any two up long distance riding then back to my level for normal one up riding. Rarely ever loses pressure, even over months of sitting in my trailer during the winter.
