Any recent info on Madstad Wind Shields? Impressions & Opinions?
I did a search on these windshields but I didn't find any new information that's recent on the forum. Can anybody give their Impressions and opinions on these windshields.
I have the Madstad system on my F3S and like it a lot. I bought both a 12" dark gray (for everyday) and a 22" light tint for touring. They swap out easily with four screws. The Madstad can adjust both up/down 2" and back/forth a bit. Nice wind protection, but still keeps the sportier looks for my F3S that are lacking on some other windshields that look like sails. My .02

I’ve had Madstad on numerous bikes most recently my ‘17 F3L. Have always been impressed with them. The angle and height adjustability is very useful. And they are nicely styled, not like some that look like a LRson screen door on the bike. They made a spl height for my Spyder because I am 6’5” , for no extra charge.

Welcome to the Forum & posting Darkside; you've got some good advice in the posts above . But there's heaps more in all the previous "Impressions and opinions" that've already been shared/posted here about Madstad Windshields - Just like most other Spyder specific a/mkt accessories &/or farkles, & especially those of our dedicated Forum Sponsors, they've only got better over time! . So like most of the 'specific advice' & any impressions and opinions already shared here by Forum Members on any subject, just cos it's not 'recent' doesn't necessarily mean that it's lost any of its value!
Search is always your friend - admittedly, it can be a bloody frustrating friend at times, but there's a vast store of shared Spyder knowledge & experience on the Forum pages that's fairly readily accessed now & into the future in a way few other 'social media' platforms can match; so please, don't discount the accumulated knowledge & experience that the Forum already holds, just waiting for you to check it out!
And if you ever have any hassles with &/or questions about the Forum/how to access info, please don't hesitate to PM me or any of the other Moderators & ask, we will try to help! (Just look for the Green usernames to the left of our posts.) Cheers

I think the F4 shields would be wonderful on a bike meant for touring, such as the RT/F3L - F3T. That said, they look ugly on a F3/S that's meant to have a sporty look. They don't have an ounce of sporty look in them. Just my .02

I have a Madstag mounted on my F3 Limited and love it. Don't remember what size I bought but mine is tinted. I love the adjustability of the shield over all the others that are out there.
I strongly agree with Troop! I have the clear version on my 2015 F3-S, and am very satisfied with it.. Plus it is readily removed if needed for storage or another reason.

Received my 20" for 2018 F3-L today. Installed in about 45 minutes. I t is a nice windshield that is much thicker than the OEM unit. In the fully down and upright position I do get a little buffeting and backdraft at 60 MPH, wasn't able to test at higher speeds(traffic). I will likely raise it a little and tilt back a little for my next ride. Raising should allow a little more air under the shield, helping the backdraft issue and tilting should allow me to still look just over it (6'0", 33 inseam) and get a laminar air flow rather than the buffeting! It seems a good product for the F3 (about 1 week to be delivered after ordering online)...Regards.
