I would bet your biggest expense for a while will be oil and tires. Maybe spark plugs if you have not changed them out already.

Thank you! Yep, spark plugs were changed last July before our Alaska trip. Just wondering if there are some high mileage spyders still out there on the road. Yep, oil and tires seem to be my biggest expense.

Default One Spyder ... How Many Miles?

Hello, everyone! So, I've been wondering just how many miles a Spyder can have on it before any "big" mechanical issues happen. I know many of you have owned more than one Spyder and racked up many, many miles, but I'm interested in the most miles on a Spyder before things start going south. Please let me know. I have a 2018 F3 Limited with almost 72,000 miles and I'm hoping for a few more riding seasons (I retired the end of 2021, so 46,000 of those miles have been put on in 2022 and 2023). I change my oil every 6,500 miles and have never added any between oil changes...I've never had to. 🤷*Thanks for your input! 💜🤗

I keep my touring bikes for 100,000 miles. These have included Wings, BMWs, Triumph, and Yamaha's. I plan on the same for my Spyder RT. My smaller bikes get bought and sold more often. I keep records and the Triumph and the BMWs were cheapest to keep on the road for that many miles. So far at 50,000 my RT has been reasonable taking only tires and fluid changes. I did have to replace the belt, but that wasn't Cam Am's issue. I hit an object on a dark road and damaged the belt. If my Spyder is trouble free at 72,000 I will keep it and put another 28,000 on it.

Keep up with preventive maintenance & proper maintenance intervals Not just mileages but dates ( oil is -xxxmile & or 12months, coolant -2y& such) they will last.

My current spyder mileage is 2,983 on my 2023 F3 LTD Special Series Mineral Blue( I bought brand new last year). This is my 3rd spyder.

My 2014 RTS-SE6 Cognac ( SOLD, it was my 2nd spyder) had 30,000 plus miles on it, it needed a drive belt, an PIN replaced ( it went for the 28,000 mile check -up).

My 2012 RTS-SE5 not sure of the mileage, ( when I upgraded to the 2014 RTS-SE6 Cognac).

My 2015 RT-S has 46500 km on it, but I didn't put the 45k there, just the 1500.

Yes, thank you! I have very much so kept up with maintenance intervals and with the miles I'm putting on my girl, the miles come long before the dates lol...so far anyway! I think I had to change the oil 4 times in 2022, lol. Appreciate your input Bromla!

My 2020RTL has just over 81,000 miles on it. All put on by me. Only things non maintenance that needed replacement were the brake switch, cruise control switch, and fuel pump. All covered under warranty.
I do all my own maintenance. Change oil and filter every 9000 miles using Rotella T6 5w-40, filters, brake pads, and spark plugs from BajaRon.
It will take longer to add more miles to it as it's now my Tennessee Sypder after picking up a used 2019 F3L for my Arizona Spyder.
I expect to easily get 200,000 miles out of each Spyder.
My wife's 2021 Sea to Sky has over 63,000 miles on it.
