Default Coolant Change - how's it done on a Ryker?

The Ryker does not have a drain plug or hose at the bottom of the radiator. How do you drain the old coolant?

    Inquiring minds need to know.

Old thread I know...but still curious as I would like to swap out my coolant.

If you're going to do your own maintenance, pdf service manuals are cheap.

While not specifically called out, IIRC I tipped the radiator upside down.

As above the repair manual is cheap and almost compulsory for DIY maintenance.

Thanks guys...I have the manual and it doesn't tell how to fully drain the system...I have a pretty good idea how I'm going to do it just thought maybe someone would have another way to do it...thousand different ways to skin a cat you know.

If you do what is in the manual, and if I recall correctly, the radiator then just snaps loose, and you can tip it to drain the radiator.

There's gotta be a hose to let coolant flow IN to the radiator, and a hose to get coolant OUT of the radiator; so as has been mentioned, taking the radiator out & tipping it upside down will almost certainly take care of getting all the liquid coolant out of that!

But it's still a very good idea to use a hose with some water pressure to back flush the radiator (but DEFINITELY DO NOT use as much pressure as that pumped out by a pressure sprayer! . Your normal garden hose pressure as a maximum should be fine. ) And while you've got the hose there, spend some time back flushing the engine as well.
