Question 2008 Spyder GS SM5 Dash / Instrument Cluster

    Hello Spyderlovers!

Currently looking for a dash! (Speedometer/Multifunction Gauge)

I want my 2008 GS SM5 to live again!
See this thread for more information.

Cosmetic damage? / sun fade? / speedometer or tachometer not working?
    Yes to all!

If you have a old dash that was taken out of service due to a non-code related issue and it was otherwise fully functional...
I have a loving home for it!

Units are available for purchase starting at around $250.
If someone has a dash they would part with for $100 shipped that will be your money ASAP!

710001514 for the original and 710002707 for the updated part numbers

    Thank you for reading!

If anyone knows of a way I could acquire a used Gauge (even damaged) that would be greatly appreciated.

Does anybody have a shop near them that does Spyders and might have something like what I described above in the back?

    Thank you for looking!

Dunno about over your way, but here in Oz, if a dash fails & needs replacing, then generally BRP wants the old one back to investigate/determine the cause of failure; so it might be a bit hard tracking one down outside a bike wrecker or as part of a 'what's left - write off' sale!

I know of a few that've been changed, some under warranty, some much later in the Spyder's life; but in every case, the old dash went back to BRP!

    Sorry!

    Thank you for the response.

I was afraid this was the case based off some reading I had done. BRP seems to keep parts on limited availability as a part of their business plan. Do not like.

If a Spyder owner had a sun-faded dash (or if it had another failure that BRP would not cover) they might have purchased a new unit out of warranty. In that context, the individual would choose what to do with the old part. Hopefully they chose to put it on a shelf in the garage and wait for someone who wants to bring one back to life to come along on the forums and pay them $100 for it...

    Wishful thinking? Probably

Thank you for your response! Text message sent.

Edit: @ivanlee appears to be sent from heaven directly to my poor Spyder.
