Default What is this Unknown dash icon?

I have an icon on my instrument cluster that I can’t seem to identify. I’ve searched through the manual and can’t seem to find any reference to it. It’s a small circle icon, just below the radio mute icon in the lower right of the cluster, which has an open top with a vertical line coming out of the top. Sometimes this vertical line moves to a forty-five degree angle. I’m guessing it has something to do with FM reception but again I can’t seem to find any reference to it.

XM radio, If you are referring to a subscription service, maybe, but I don’t have this service. This icon is depicted on page 35 of my manual. I did notice that the line would flip between vertical to angled going down the road. I’m still leaning toward signal strength or stereo mode.

Its the universal icon for on/off. If you push down on the joystick and hold it the radio goes on/off.

That is the universal symbol for on/off, however if that vertical line is moving around.....all bets are off.

That is the symbol, thanks. The next time I have the bike out I will push the joystick and see if the vertical line moves.

The vertical line won’t move, Poasttown.... the symbol is either lit when on, or blank when off.

I have seen references to a "joystick" in a few posts lately, all related to an RT.

I have looked for such a device on my wife's bike and can't find it. I see UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT buttons below the MODE and SET buttons, but no "joystick" that can be pressed.

With either the RT or F3, the 2018 and newer S & Ltd's have a new dash and to control it you use a joystick on the left switch cluster. Kinda looks like this.

Actually, on my 2019 F3Ltd, holding the joystick in the down position only mutes the radio, never really turns it off. When you hold the joystick down, the mute symbol will come on but the symbol you are referring to always remains lit.

You are correct. You cannot turn the radio off. Just mute it. But that power universal symbol does appear instead of the universal pause symbol from time to time. It seems to depend on the app you are using for audio, on the phone, for which symbol is used. I have not paid much attention to when one symbol is used over another.

Not sure if you punch the joystick down twice or hold it down, but I turned the radio off.

Would you please verify that and let us know for sure. On my 2019, I can only mute the radio. If it's possible to actually turn it off I'd like to know. Thanks
