My title was misleading. My Bad. I edited the title.

I went one year old and bought the 2019 F3L. The rebates and the friendly deal with iMoto convinced me that was the way to go.

No buyers remorse here. When the 2014 gets ready to be traded off...then we will see if I go RT or F3. At this point, only the Shadow knows.

Correct me if wrong, aren’t the 2021 models just a restart up of the assembly line to finish the production run of units they intended to sell in 2020?

Then Corona Virus arrived, placing craziness on most industries.

So if the 2021 is actually different from a 2020, what changes were made.

    Thanks for clarification on this.

Most likely. But...BRP and the dealers are calling them 2021's now. BRP seems to be in on it. Advantage for buyers: a newer model year and I am still thinking no price changes as of yet. Covid has most likely killed any R & D or changes to be made on the pending new years model. BRP just jumped on the bandwagon and is doing what they think is best. We will see how this all plays out. This was the least expensive way to make a model year changeover.

Remember when Honda did similar? I don't remember the exact year...but I believe there was NO 2011 model and they went from a 2010 to the 2012.

That was the year they moved production from Ohio to Japan, which of course was a major disruption in their normal life. I guess we could kind of say the same thing for BRP. Covid-19 has been a major disruption in their normal life.

Often the motorcycle companies do this. The term used is BNG, = Bold New Graphics.

Will be interesting if 2021 is in short supply as they are likely now spoiled up and building sleds. The real 2021s may arrive as is typical, early in the actual year of the model. Time will tell.

I don't want to start a flame war here, but it's a scientific fact that the dark colors of any year are faster than the lighter colors. The dark colors absorb light, while the lighter colors reflect light.
Thus, when moving forward, the darker colors, in this case Asphalt Gray, absorb light. In other words, any light hitting the front pulls the Spyder forward, giving it extra speed.
The lighter colors reflect the light. The light bouncing off the front reduces the forward speed.
    Ain't physics wonderful.
If it ain't broke, don't break it.

Yes, in Valcourt, Quebec. The same crew was, maybe still is, used for both lines. Spyder production stopped in April and sled production started and then ended in the fall. After the 2017 Homecoming they were making changes to the production line but I don't remember what the new system was going to be. I think it was going to allow Spyder production year round, or it was going to allow some of the production line to be used for both. I wish I could remember. Maybe I can find a post from back then when memory was fresher.

But yes, sleds and Spyders are both built in the same factory complex. ATVs and side by sides are built in Mexico, I believe. Rotax engines are made in Austria.

Well, I guess that means there will be no big reveal in September, and possibly no major discounts on the 2020 either. Normally there is anywhere from a $4,000-$5,500 discount on models starting in late September and running until that model year is gone. Guess I will have to wait and see. I know it was a pipe dream, but I was really hoping for around 1600cc or something for the 2021 model.
