Rev limit set at 8.4000 x 1000RPM
Vehicle speed limit based on rear axle speed.
That is what I pulled off the Software.

87 mph. according to my dealer this is because of gearing and the ECU starts closing the injectors as I get to
85 or so. So for $28K, I can buy a Goldwing and cruise on or get my 2017 ECU reprogramed and be a happy camper.
Just a curious question on my part.
Thanks much for all the input.

Thanks Troop, I understand what it does now, guess I don't need to go 90 or 100 mph, but good to know that the Rotax can do it without throwing a rod out the cylinder.

Funny that this should come up. I did a 500 mile day trip to the NC mountains on yesterday. On the way back, I got my 2016 F3T up to 115 gps mph. The first 112 went very fast, but they started climbing slower after that. I had possibly 3-5 mph more left in it, but I didn't want to push it. The 3 sport bikes with me left me (of course), but the harley and M109 that were with me had to back out at 110, as they got the dreaded death wobble. I just wish I had been on my Vmax to show the sport bike guys what was really up. Lol!

You will discover, all things being equal, that the size of your windshield has more to do with your top speed than almost anything else you can do to your Spyder.

Yup. The engineering egghead-speak I saw about this is: As speed doubles, wind resistance quadruples.
It was mentioned in an article about fuel economy.

RE: Windshield size...right on Peter and Baja.
I have referred to the biggies as barn doors, in the past. I like the OEM on the F3's. At the moment, no desire for a change up. I do feel like the F3 has a bit more "pick up" than the RT.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.

I do not wish to spend 28K for a bike that will not top a 100 mph.
Thanks in advance!!

Hell my old 2008 will do that
