    Default Rear hatch open idiot light

    My rear hatch idiot light keeps coming on.i replace the center latch assembly with no luck. Where to next ? 2012 rts

    I'm not 100% sure, but I think the side bags each have a switch that will indicate they are open.

    It may be as simple as the compartment is actually not perfectly closed. They have to be shut "just so." If you can pull on the lid, and it opens, they were not shut good.

    It may not be the latch at all. I had the same problem and it was solved by shimming up the micro switch.

    Did you remove any rear end Tupperware recently, as in adding a farkle? I found out that, if you don't re-mount the Tupperware just right, it puts pressure on the latching mechanisms, enough so they pop open occasionally.
