I could be in for the OK trip if the group is small and I can run tail gunner. I have this phobia about folks running into me.

    ataDude,

Currently there are two Spyders (couples) in this ride. We are safety first type of riders so you don't have to worry about it. We would love to have you join us.

Reckon you can put up with an old single guy? I'm not too cranky... most of the time.

Tell me when and where to meet up (I'm in Allen) and we have a deal.

Here are our plans for the Labor Day Ride, we look forward to you joining us:

Labor Day Big Bend National Park Trip:

Friday, September 4: Leave DFW early morning to arrive Big Bend National Park (BBNP) before nightfall
On the way we will make regular fuel and rest stops and an hour long lunch stop.

We are planning to stay at the park lodge (Chisos Mountains Lodge). There are other accommodations around the park. There are also nice camping facilities at the park that we have used in the past. With the motorcycle trip camping is a bit difficult though. I would suggest making accommodation arrangements early since it is a holiday weekend. Here is a link to some accommodations:

There is a very nice and reasonably priced restaurant in the park. Other than that there are all kinds of places around the park for food.

Saturday, September 5th and Sunday September 6th

We are planning rides to Marfa, Alpine, Big Bend Ranch State Park (one of the most beautiful rides in Texas in my opinion), Lajitas, and McDonald Observatory in Fort Davis.

Labor Day weekend Marfa has Marfa Lights Festival and Alpine has yearly Alpine Balloon Festival.

    Monday, September 7th
Leave BBNP early in the morning to return to DFW by nightfall.

For the weekend ride, we have decided to ride on Sunday. Because of summer heat we generally start early (7:00 AM) from the mid cities area. There will be two Spyders and possibly two Harley riders starting from the mid cities area. We will be meeting-up with another Spyder in Denton, US 380 & N Potter Shop Rd (near US 380 & 377) before heading north on 377 to Oklahoma.

Since you are in Allen, would it be convenient for you to meet us at the same spot (377 & 380) between 7:30 and 7:45. Our general plan is to ride north on 377 into Oklahoma (Lake Murray). From there we will go west on 70 and then 81/287 for return to DFW area. This is about a 300 miles ride. We make fuel and rest stops along the way as necessary and a lunch stop.

Hope you can join us on Sunday. My cell number is 817-983-1024.

Anyone else on the board reading this post is welcome to join us.

Thanks! Unfortunately, I'm going to have to pass on the Sunday deal. Keep me in mind for future rides.
