    Default Just got BRP 25" ultra screen

    Slapped it on as I was leaving for work. Rode 12+ miles to work and so far so good. Will know more later

    I just put on the 23" ultra. I'm 5'10 and I wish I would have got the 25". The wind hits me right on top of my head and I get the bobble head effect at hwy speeds. The ultra looks great on the Spyder and is clear with no distortion when looking thru it,I just think another 2 inches higher would have stop the buffeting.

    5'10" or over...go with the 25"...I'm surprised the dealer didn't tell you to go higher....

    Another here had the same problem...

    When in doubt, I guess, go higher...

    Higher certainly helps, but everyone should realize it may not be a cure. With lots of different body types and riding positions, as well as different helmets, the same windshield affects us all differently. In addition, the amount of wind and turbulence you get is also affected by the windshield position (distance from the rider) and the windshield curvature. A slight flip at the top may make a shorter windshield work just as well as a taller, straight one. Differences are subtle; that's why the heat gun "tweaks" Marcel has suggested for some of his shields have helped some of our members. I agree with Bonecrusher that the dealer should have recommended a higher shield...or that the customer should have done some research. You shouldn't go against the recommendations...you just may not be satisfied even if you follow them. Height isn't everything, and a shorter rider with a long body could need a taller shield, and there are other factors involved (like handlebar risers.)

    I ordered the 23" because my dealer said that was the only one they had in their system. I later looked at the Can Am website and all I could find was the 23". Can someone please let me know what the part number is for the 25" windshield. Thank you,

    My first thoughts about what the dealer should have recommended is that on a new product like the BRP ultra touring windshield, they know just as much about how well it works as we do. I'm sure they are getting the same product info that we get from BRP. These shields just haven't been out there long enough to have the real world rider experience that people need to make valid recommendations.

    And, like Scotty said, even two people six feet tall will have different opinions of how well a particular windshield works for them. Someone 72" tall with a 34" long upper torso will be in the wind differently than another person who only has a 30" long upper torso. Not to mention the various head shapes and sizes requiring different helmets or someone weighing 180 lbs. vs. someone weighing 280lbs., etc. There are so many factors in play on an open air ride that affect the rider experience.

    Great to here it

    I'll be installing my 25" also, I'll give it a ride to see if it's any better than the 23" I returned I'm 5'10.5" a report later...

    If it doesn't seem to be any different than the 23'', I'll probably order the CHAD from NMM.

    A lot depends on what you want out of the windshield too. Do you want to look THROUGH it or OVER it? I prefer to look over it. I am 5'10" (of course at 65 I may be 5'9" by now) and I have the Cal-Sci 23.5". I get enough wind deflection that I don't get very much head buffeting at all except by crosswinds and that's not the windshield's fault.
