An easy fix if your seat is too heavy for the gas shock

Great idea Mike! I added the utopia backrest and a full seat sheepskin cover on my RT however the BRP strut now can’t handle the extra weight. So It operates like a hood support being attached at one end and the other end goes into the hole you drilled in the seat pan right? Does it rattle when the seat is closed? Thanks for the idea.

It isn't a tight fit so I imagine it can ….. but I have never heard mine, while driving …. and there is no evidence on the paint that it is moving around.... If you are still concerned, use a small rubber band and many wraps around the rod , it will act as a cushion …..I hadn't thought about this fix until you brought up the possibility ..thanks … I'm going to add this tonight …... It's just as easy to go to an auto parts star with the OEM prop rod, and match it up to a aftermarket one with a stiffer spring!

I used one set for 30 psi, and it worked perfectly.
(NOTE: My seat had a sheepskin seat cover, a BRP backrest, and a fuel door installed...)
