Default Did my oil change today

So on my 09 SE5. I took the drain bolt out of where you put the oil in. Then took off both filters. Replaced both filters. Put the drain bolt back in and filled it up. Cranked it. Went thru neutral and first back and forth a few times. Was there another drain bolt? If so then if I took it out now I guess all the new oil I put in would spill out and is it something I need to worry about this time? Just noticed when I got the hiflo filters from baja Ron that there were 2 copper washers is why I ask.

Yes, on the SE5 there are definitely two drain plugs.

Yes, you should drain what is in the Byke now and refill with fresh oil as the other is contaminated. Now, in my humble opinion I would leave the new filters in place, yes they have some contamination from the old oil but that does not hamper their filtering capabilities.

By the book though they are contaminated, so.......

Keep records of date, mileage and receipts for the maintenance, it will come in handy.

Stridersr7 , I would suggest you tube videos for your byke should be able to show you where the other drain plug is.

    Default Bummer.....

As stated above there are two drains. One is basically for the motor and the other from the trans and clutch. At this point you are way overfilled if you put in the recommended amount of oil so drain it right away. Oil filters are fine no need to do anything there. Remove both drain plugs...one is close to the outer edge the other is closer to the frame. Then refill about a quart less than the amount recommended and then check at operating temperature. Then add as needed as there is always oil left in the engine so the amounts vary....

    Hi Stridersr7,

Re: Where is the other plug?

If you were a spider on the ceiling looking down at your Spyder, it will be about 8" from the reservoir drain plug in the 4 o'clock direction.

If at first you do not find it, DO NOT give up: It is there.

Hope that this helps you find it,

    Hi Stridersr7,

Re: re did the oil change

Good for you. Now, one day, you can help someone else.

Re: had to take off this plastic piece

The last time I changed my oil, I drilled out the two access holes to about a 2" diameter so I don't have to remove it next time.
