    Default Weeding through ads online

I'm finally on the market. Went through the education class last week, & have the proper endorsement. Looking at various online ads, seeing a bunch of "stuff":
    • The RS S with a 1330 engine. Had my bubble burst on that one. I just didn't know any better
    • The RT with a semi auto trans, "which is very rare"
    • The F3 semi auto-- with a clutch & shifter in the picture

I've burned up the search button here checking this stuff out. Having fun looking/learning though.

Yup! RSS, RS, GS, ST, RR (pre 2014) all have the 998 twin engines.
    1330's were introduced on 2014 RT's and all F3's.
The "MANUAL" transmission is the one considered rare. Most, favor the SE (semi auto). I have had five Spyders--the first Manual, the rest all SE's.

Your due diligence is good. Lots of stuff for sale on SL. Most of the ads should be pretty much correct. Ads with 500 plus looks--and no buyers are USUALLY priced a bit to high. Keep that in mind when negotiating. With the introduction of the new sub $10K Ryker--that is also going to have an effect on the used value of current stuff. Thousands of $$ of accessories are usually worth 50% to zero value--depends on the age and the new owners desire for them. My dealer gladly sold me big bucks in accessories. At trade in time, was told they were worth zero.

Thanks for the tips. I'm going thru the ads here, & the usual stuff like Cycletrader, Craigslist etc. Lots of stuff out there. I feel like Ralphie on "A Christmas Story" wanting his Red Ryder BB gun.
