So.......what happened to AM radio?
Attached is the spec sheet for the 2018 Spyder RT. It clearly say "AM/FM" radio. My 2018 only has FM. Does anyone has AM on their RT? Weird...Spyder Spec2-compressed.pdf

It's not on any of the 2018 models.
Which is just as well: the reception was always worse than horrible!

I guess they printed the spec sheet before deciding not to put AM. Too expensive to re-print. That's BRP for you......

AM works on my 16 RTL although there is interference from the turn signals. Chris

IMO, one of BRP's problems is good review of printed material before publication.

otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

Do you get any extra popping, when you shift?

You can say that again.... I had a Slingshot and the AM radio was just statics. The dealer even put in a new radio to no avail. FM worked great, though....

No, just interference from turning signals and its more interference from the right signal than the left . Reception is generally poor no matter what I am listening to. The radio on this machine leaves a lot to be desired. This issue along with the lack of helmet storage are the worst things about these machines. Chris

My 2010 sounded about like a Geiger counter that was vacationing at Chernobyl in about 1989...

I have been thinking about mounting a am/ fm cassette player or CD player in the rear trunk and run wiring up to my headset in my helmet speakers to get better music than these radios get. Or maybe a radio with blue tooth that I can tap into my communication device

I vote for the Bluetooth option.

Yes I agree. Won't have to deal with the wiring. And one with wireless remote so I don't have to stop and change stations all the time.

The answer to that is simple in the late 60s FM took over and nobody listens to AM anymore. RIP AM radio!

I’ve had my RT-S SE6 for 3 years now, and have never used the Spyder’s radio. I do use the sound system and either listen to my iPod or.....to my Sirius radio which I installed in my trunk. Excellent reception, and the type of music I like...’60’s....Cousin Brucie.
