    Default Weight on Spyder

Ok before I get blasted. How much weight have some of you guys put on Spyder. I weigh bout 270 and wife weighs close to 175 which I know is over the limit of 450 but not by much. Any of you guys have put any more weight than that on the Spyder and had problems. Also what should I have the shocks set at when I ride double with the added baggage. (She kill me if she reads this) lol
So basically whatta you guys think

The front shocks will have to be tightened up from their stock level of 3/5. You might want to turn them up to 4 and see how they feel. You do not need to lift your bike to do this, but it is recommended to do so...there is a tool in the kit Can-Am gives you which will enable you to change the shocks....

As far as the back goes, usually this one does not need much fiddling...with that being said, you might want to bump this one up as well...

I put my fronts on 4/5 and I'm fine...your riding style will also dictate what shock setting you need.

I wouldn't go directly to 5....start with 4 and see how it feels...

    >>>>>Though the wife is a bit lighter and we don't add baggage. Last service I had the shop put both ends to the hardest settings. I CAN feel a bit more roughness on some roads but it stays planted much better on rough corners. I did hit an Armidillo hole with a "BANG" out in the yard but no appearent damage to the rear.

I would put all the shock springs to the max setting. I did that within 4 months of getting my Spyder and I like the ride a lot better. I weigh 250'ish and anytime I had an adult passenger, no matter what their weight was, the stock settings of 3 on all the shock springs was too mushy.

Cajun, I recommend you boost up the shocks, and bring the tire pressure to the upper limits. Some here are running higher, as am I. I am at 20 in the front and 30 in the rear. I did both and notice a much more stable feel when riding two up with my girl. Niether of us are lightweights.

Also you may notice oncoming drivers flashing thier highbeams at you when riding two up at night, I did with Carol on the back. Headlights are adjustable with a phillips below each light.

Thanks for reminding me, Spyderbyter. I don't ride much at night, but you're right about the beams blinding others. NEED TO ADJUST MY HEADLIGHTS.

I have rear at max (7) and fronts at (4). There is some rough feelings over some bumps, but this helps alot.

For our trip to Yellowstone, we'll have me 220, her 140, trailer tongue weight 35, front 25-30 lbs.... all total: about 430. Rear tire seems best at about 29 lbs and front psi is 16-17 for me. There is still no wear on my rear tire and I'm over 6500 miles....
