Krikit for belt tensioning???
Just reading on the net these are meant for ribbed belts and not timing belts. Anyone know the origin of the use of the Krikit device on timing belts?

Origin is made in China. Though I'm not sure that answers your question. The Krikit II best tension gauge that I sell works very well on the Spyder belt.

The Krikit II has been in successful usage on Spyder belts for many years now. They are a very handy device and work well for the home mechanic.

The timing belts I've seen are ribbed similar to the drive belts on our Spyders.

Here's the thing....
These type of tension guages do not care what type of belt is being tested as long as you can get to the center of the span for measurment. If in doubt lay a flexible pastic strip down first though,I have not found it nessessary but have not gotten into industial belt....
