    Default Factory Toolkit Contents?

Does anyone have a list of tools included in the factory toolkit (2013 RTL)?

    - I've browsed the manual with no such listing of information found.
    - There were other posts from long ago with photos/descriptions, but they have since been removed.

    Thanks for the help.

I was feeling kind today so I went out in the 100+ degree garage and pulled out my tool kit for you.
    1. 5 mm Allen
    2. 8mm / 10 mm open end wrench
    3. 30 Torx & 20 Torx
    4. Flat Tip & Phillips screwdrivers
    5. Digital Tire Gauge
    6. Handle for Torx & screwdrivers
    7. Spare lithium battery for the tire gauge

This is the kit in my 17 F3T, there were a few years when they did not contain tire gauges.

    Pretty much junk.

Edit: found another short allen in the kit. Part # is 520-001-666

I certainly appreciate your sacrifice and hope you got back indoors quickly. Believe it or not this isn't easy information to come by. I scoured the internet for quite a while before breaking down to ask. You are saying the tools are junk? That is also very good info, now I can piece together something worthwhile.

    Thank you sooo much! ibd

Yes, they are very cheap tools. For your RT I would carry a 30 Torx, a torx for the fasteners in the side saddlebags (sorry I can’t remember the size) a 10 mm articulating box wrench, a 10 mm socket and ratchet wrench (in case you have to change headlight bulbs). A flat tip screwdriver to remove the push pins. With those tools you can remove all the panels, access the battery, and change headlights.

Yes, the tools in the OEM kit are of questionable quality, IMO. I agree with what Ann has added and did so for my "traveling kit" several years ago.

Jay and Ann are right on. You are not going to be able to do any major repairs with the OEM kit. I think that is typical of any MC though. Ural is supposed to have a great kit--but that is another story.

I also added a set of torx heads to beef up the kit. It's there, but thankfully have not had a need yet.

Looks like they left the sockets off in the F3 kits, which makes sense as the headlights on the F3s are secured with torx fasteners. Back in the day the kit also contained a shock spanner. Now that they have gone back to adjustable shocks they tell you in the manual to take it to your dealer for adjustment.

While I was packing for our trip to SC I came across this tool which would be great to have in your kit. This has all the torx you would need and you can also get an Allen wrench version.
