It sounds like your gear shift "actuator." When they disconnect, the bike will not go into gear. Coincidentally, this happened to me just this weekend. Mine happened somewhere between Wasilla and home--(20 miles). It will not go into reverse--but I still have my forward gears. Mine made it to my garage--so--so far, no tow bill.

Going to take it to the dealer this week. This happened to me one time before with my 2010. 30 minutes and about $50 later--I was good to go. Here's hoping the same for both of us.

which cycle clutch or auto ? most likely auto ... ( It sounds like your gear shift "actuator." When they disconnect, the bike will not go into gear ) is this a vacuum actuator ? --------- are they now referred too as S-M 6 `s and so on ?

It’s an SE6 (semiautomatic) and for info limited comes in SE only. To the OP, sounds like the front drive sprocket.

Could be 2 Dogs, but the diagnosis should have been done if that's the case. I just hate a story without an ending especially if it may help someone else out later on....

This time, it was on the 2014 (32K miles). It did happen on my 2010 early on though. Happened a mile or so from the dealer--limped it in and they fixed it on the spot. NO charge to me. Those were the days.
