Default Anyone Ryde With a Pacemaker?

Due to an irregular (and slow) heartbeat, I had a pacemaker implanted a week ago. Had my first follow-up visits today and, although everything looks good so far, I won't be allowed to ryde for another three weeks. (At least I'm OK to drive again...).

So, I'm just wondering whether anyone here rydes with a pacemaker? If so, what adjustments, if any, did you need to make to your ryding? I'm a bit concerned about pushing the handlebars - my incision is just below the left collarbone and the muscles in that area area are used to turn the bars- especially to the right. (I know the incision will fully heal eventually, but I wouldn't want to overdo it too early.)

Any thoughts on pacemakers and ryding?

    Thanks!
    Bert

I dont have a pacemaker but can't imagine why it would be an issue once you are healed up.

I had one put in 6/20 this year i rode after 6 weeks they just don't want you to pull the leads out before they get scar tissue on them. in sept they are doing an ablation right now i take pills to stay in rythem but you can't take those more than 3 months they destroy your liver. Hopefully that will take care of the a fib problem

I'm riding with an artificial aortic valve. I just took my time to heal completely.

Wouldn't that be a Peacemaker .44? Would have to be with a large holster!

And if it's a concealed shoulder holster, watch your nose when you try to quickdraw that sucker.

RE: Pacemaker....I was driving my Spyder's within a week. No problems, issues, or repairs needed.

A couple years later, not used yet, had to replace the nitro pills that were never used, and still send the Dr. an electronic reading every three months or so. Doc sees me once a year in person.

Other than the bulge which I can feel when touching the unit, I don't even know its there.

I think you will be good to go. PS. Ask the DR. specifically and do what he/she says for you.
