    Default Stock windshield size?

    Hi all,

Does anyone know how tall the stock windshield is on the 2018 RT? We recently bought one (picking it up later today) and even in the down position it wasn't quite as low as I would have liked, so I'm exploring options but as I don't know the stock size I'm really not sure what height is larger or smaller...

    Default I believe it’s 25”

I’m pretty sure it’s 25” on stock height.

    Default WINDSHIELD

I'm sure someone here will tell you .......... However I have trimmed a few windshields, and it's not difficult to do .... Quite a few folks change them for something they like better ... so used OEM windshields are available and cheap .... get one and trim that .............jmho ............ Mike

I had read earlier today about someone trimming theirs (might have even been a post from you honestly), taping the windshield and using a fine tooth saw blade I think? I'm just nervous about not making it look like uneven crap I am artistically challenged

I may be very brave, but I use a 4 1/2 in. angle grinder with a very thin ( 1mm ) DIABLO metal cutting blade from Home Depot to cut a large amount off ( ie one + inches )....if only 1/2 in. there are a lot of sanding disk choices ..... A rough disk using a light touch will help keep the melting to a minimum. ... I mark the windshield about a 1/4 inch from where I want the final height to be ( if using a cutting tool ) ... then sand it down to the final height ... thekey is to have reliable assistance .... windshields are cumbersome to secure for any tool work ... a person with strong hands is best, imho .... experiment a bit first to get a feel for the plastic and the tool you are using ......... SLOW is best ... check my albums for idea's ...... Mike

Many years ago I had access to a good size laser engraver that easily cut through acrylic up to 3/4" thick... I'm kinda missing that machine now... I'll have to see how brave I am... and how brave my wife will allow me to be lol
