Good afternoon all. I hope you are all well.
Im about 99% sure Im about to become an owner of a 2009 Spyder (manual trans).
Like I said, I am new to this whole space so sorry for the newbie questions. Little background, Im a gear head, I have owned pretty much anything with a motor and wheels, even some without wheels, I know my way around a garage and tool box.
With an 09, are there any issues I should look out for.
I know these things have very aggressive traction and stability control, as they should, but is there a way to pull more timing out of it to get out of corners without throttle body shutting down?
Has anyone separated their braking and installed a front brake lever like what you would have on a motorcycle?
Mods: It already has a slip on exhaust which I might change out for a louder version but are there any cold air intake options? or re-mapping / tuning kits for these? I know there are lots of tuning options for their seadoos and utvs but not sure about these.
Thank you all for your time. And I hope I can bring a whole new dynamic to the forum with this build.

08 and 09's are plentiful at the moment. And...many are in the $6K to $8K price range. Very good for 's. These are good machines and can go well over 100K miles without major problems. Lots of sub 10K milers in the mix to be had. Shopping around and due diligence can land you a nice one.
Most that have modified the braking system have gone to an ISCI system. Good...but not inexpensive.
Have owned one of each of the two first years. Nary a problem or issue. Went to RT's when they came out. More of what I was looking for.
Good luck in YOUR hunt. Blue Knight (above) has a good reading suggestion.

Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
There were some issues with heat, and a power steering recall on the earlier bikes. I'm sure that those issues would have been taken care of long ago...
Happy shopping, and let us know what you end up buying!
I encourage you to use keywords like "hand brake" and other terms related to your interest in the search box provided with the forums. You might be amazed at what you find as so much has been discussed with others previously. I don't say this to "not answer you", but to assist you in case you are not used to searching through forums.
Welcome to the clan.

I read the thread 3 times then printed it out for reference (BEFORE starting my Spyder riding) Pay particular attention to the advice to 'read your owners manual......twice'. It has answers to >90% of questions one may have. Many folks just don't do this.
