    Default 2018 RTL Acoustic Panel

If you have "opened" up your new Spyder did you notice that there is no longer an acoustic panel under the top panels is no longer there? Does anyone know how they determined that that piece is no longer needed. I am wondering if that is why the engine seems louder when I ride with no helmet.

    Thanks

I don't ride without a helmet so didn't notice. My Dashcam video does seem louder though. Figure its due to heat issues that they took them out.

Wow, that really answers the question..

I do think it is about $$$. As all the panels are off there is a bunch more "Open Space" around the Spyder, little things like around the break fluid res, and the saddle bags (where the cb used to mount). One nice thing is there is one less panel to remove to change the air filter or the oil filter.

Did you ever think that they may have eliminated them in order to improve underbody airflow?
Not everybody is out to get you, and ruin your ride. Some things change in order to improve them.

You are a funny guy! I certainly was not worried about anyone out to get me or ruin the ride. It was just a "stupid" question to get other folks opinions (and to that end thank you.) I have not heard of any heat problems since the 14's came out and you may well be correct about the air flow... Some things do change for improvement and some change for cost and I did buy the machine, but is feels like it is a little less than I got from my money previously. Another example is the removal of the selector switch to adjust the ride. While I am sure they are not out to get me and it did not ruin my ride, I did like being able to change the soft/stiffness of the ride.

Again, thanks for you opinion... that is all I was looking for.
