Default New to the site loooking for some help

Hey guys New to the Spyder world. my wife just picked up a 2013 RS SE5 She is in love to say the least. Great site with a lot of information. I have searched al over net on how to make live the front power port. Cannot find anything on this model. Can anyone help out. I am going to power a new Boss amp speaker set up for the bike and thought the 12 volt would be much easier than trying to install a switch

If it is not live with the engine running, then the fuse is blown or missing or the wiring is broken.

You might have a choice of "hot while running" or "hot all the time" by moving the fuse to different positions.

    Default Not sure....

Welcome to the spyder world and this most informative site... I believe the power port was switched on power but if you switched the #6 to #7 or the other way around it would be constant power. Now if you have no power either way the fuse may be blown or not there....

Thanks guys. Did a bit more digging on this site and found a whole bunch. I am wondering if the power is even hooked up behind trunk wall. I will check more tonight. I also read the 13 only works while motor is running? Is this correct?

That's correct. The accessory circuit is only live with the engine running. You do not have the option of moving the fuse to choose between switch or unswitched like other models. Try the horn. If it works, the fuse is OK. You may be right that accessory plug is not connected. What also sometimes happens is the polarity is wrong. The front trunk is install by the dealer when new and stuff happens.

Go for it. It will take a while the first time. 15 minutes the second time.

You should be able to access that port from engine side if it’s like a 09(wiring is on engine side) but isn’t accessory port fused at only 10 amp?
If it’s a decent size amp, you might wanna run the main power wire to battery with recommended inline fuse and use the accessory port or other ‘turn on power’ for remote. Otherwise you probably would starve the amp.
