Windscreen Modification
With the unusually hot summer we are having here in Michigan, I find myself longing
for some extra breeze over the top of my 2017 RTL's windscreen.
Even in the full down position there isn't much.
Has anyone had their STOCK windscreen shortened by say 2 inches? And who would do that type of work?
When colder weather comes, I can always raise it up to block the wind.
Guess I'm looking to have my cake and eat it too!
Thanks for any sugestions
Gary

I have trimmed several shields over the years with good results. I use a good quality masking tape and apply three layers. Mark the shield where you want the cut. I use my jigsaw with a fine tooth blade and then sand the edge with a fine grit sandpaper. Take your time and make sure you have enough tape to protect the shield. I have done them on and off the bikes.

Did a similar thing on my 2014 RT, cut 3" in my case. I'm short and even with the shield all the way down, I was looking through it. This, as you say, allows airflow in the down position and when raised up blocks air and I could still look just over it ! Try it you might like it.
Navydad did exactly what I did, with one exception. I ran a piece of chrome door edge molding around the top of the windshield after cutting. Kind of finished it off.
