Under $10,000 Spyder

A few months ago I visited Paris and found it interesting that mostly people rode scotters, or narrow sports bikes. I think I might have seen one tour bike. Many bikes get preferred areas over area, those areas are too small for current spyders.

So just curious if a new one would be smaller perhaps? Fit better in spaces for those areas.

The problem in Paris is not the size of the vehicle but rather the lack of places to park it. Last time I was in Paris there were very small cars parked everywhere, over curbs, on sidewalks, in between "no parking" iron posts. Any 3-wheeler is going to be wider and more difficult to maneuver than a two-wheeler so I don't think Spyder type vehicles will replace anything being built today.

I'll be ordering two of them as soon as they hit the market. This is not a replacement for your Spyder so why all the negative stuff before you even see it and the market it's going after? It will be the Spark of the Spyder world and the Spark has done pretty well and is a blast to ride.

Well If its like Lamont said I might sell my beautiful 2015 F3 Yellow with 15,000 miles and get the New Version. The 900 ACE in the Spark had Great Gas Mileage and My New Sea-doo GTI-SE with the ACE 900 Also gets Great Mileage? Economy sells - Over 85 MPH is reckless Driving and Jail in Connecticut?

I solidly think on seeing Can Ams patent that it would be outside the realms of possibility to produce that sub $10. They could have had the tilting market to themselves for 10 years and yet they didnt do it which is a shame because although they would now enter a opened market with other brands starting in the leaning area they will now just be coming second with a sub par design at that.

I still say strip it down. Lose the frunk, make it a single seater, minimal rider aids, basic or no nanny. You want touring, comfort, luggage space? There are already models for that.

The ACE900 engine on a lighter chassis would bring back some performance.

My pick is ACE 900 with 90 HP and Maybe CVT to keep costs down- Maybe around 700 Pds to keep the power to weight AND a choice of 3-4 Colors like the Spark would be hugh in my opinion? The Spark got people to Buy the Slightly more expensive models because they are more comfortable and this Spyder could do the same for the other Models? I look forward to 9 SEP 18!

Why not? It should still be more than capable of 75 mph.

Well 600 might be ok on two wheels but with the added weight of the third wheel, and the slow nature of a cvt seems like it would make it too slow to safely ride on the highway. Would it be able to hit 75mph, maybe, but would it accelerate from 60-75 quickly enough to maneuver safely in the flow of traffic on the highway. Who knows?

I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

If its the ACE it will be 900cc and either 60 or 90 hp depending on the tune? Unless you mean a different engine?

I could really imagine Silver fenders with a choice of Blue, Yellow, Red, Black, and Green Hood and Larger Side panels-But I'm Dreaming?

Lots of speculation but few facts on this. 600-900cc range, 60ish HP, 300 KG, no storage?

I can't see how this can be anythng other than a twist and go scooter style spyder, utilising a drive train from a can-am ATV.

My wife likes the sound of it anyway.

Wish I had the room to stash my Burgman 650. Fun ride and a highway eater. Rode it to Canada and back. Comfortable (after I modified the seat) and swapped for Kurykan grips.

The Ace 600 snowmobiles will run just about 70 mph... and rolling resistance on a snowmobile is WAY higher than on any motorcycle.

I'll give it a different conjecture that to help it keep weight down its going to be a small machine and that due to there being most of the world have a sub 1meter front end and with some countries at 850 and the Yamaha coming in at 850 I wouldnt half think that with reduced acceleration and other power that they will go for the 850mm mark.

Gunna be a small Yike. (BTW smaller is better in my book for this set-up)

My guess would be the 900 ACE which has about 90hp. I think the 600 ACE is just to under powered at 60HP, unless this new Spyder is going to be super light. Hell it can barely power a 500 lb sled up top 60mph. Now they have a 900 ACE turbo which is supposed to produce 150hp. Would be awesome if you could buy the "low buck" spyder with the 900 ACE for $9999 or a higher priced "sport" model in the $15-$16K range with the 900 ACE turbo.

They'll run better than 60 mph... I was radared on one at 69 mph.
That was on ice; on a 40 degree day.
