I know when I was looking at used last fall, my searches here kept coming up with Sierra Cycles as a good source for the extended warranty at a reasonable price. i seem to recall around 600-700 for 3 years. There are others...
As for whether it's worth it or not, that's entirely up to you.

Last year when I did my search I ended up with a purchase from Pittbull Powersports in Missouri.
They got me a great policy for three years at a very good price. Since then a friend of mine from Florida bought the same policy there and he got four years for the sale price.

Is it wirth it? After six months of owning the policy, I needed a compressor, I got that fixed and it offset 2/3 of the cost of the warranty. This is a great policy and it covers so much more than other policies that I looked at.
I love the fact that I don't need to call them for approval. I go to any repair shop, give them the card they call the insurance company, and get paid right now for the work.

    Default Depends on Warranty Supplier

If you are talking BEST warranty from BRP that extends the factory warranty to a total of up to 5 years, then Bert's Mega Mall is the place to go for purchase (they offer a discount for Spyderlovers). If you are looking beyond the 5 year mark as you have exhausted BEST, then I have experience with Zurich (was on a Harley Ultra Classic) and they seem to be a decent warranty company. With the BEST warranty, covered repairs incur a $50 deductible and have to be approved by BRP through your dealer (BEST is also accepted at any CanAm Spyder dealer). With other companies like Zurich, most often you have to get the repair approved through the shop first and may have to pay for the repair up front, then get reimbursed from the warranty company.

Bottom line, whatever you choose, read the warranty documents carefully -- know what is covered, and what it not covered; know the proper process to obtain warranty coverage (if you don't follow their rules, a costly repair could end up as your responsibility entirely).

    All the best …. Ann

When does the original warranty expire?
You can buy a BRP extended warranty called B.E.S.T. for up to a total of 5 years, including the original warranty (which is 24 months, I believe).

You can also buy 3rd party extended warranties. The most popular is Riders' Advantage, which most powersports dealers carry.

You can buy these from your own dealer, or from any other Can-Am dealer in the country.

The dealer sets their own price, so check around. Many people on here have had good experience with Sierra Vista Powersports in Arizona. Others have bought from PitBull Powersports and Bert's MegaMall.

As to whether an extended warranty is 'worth it'; that's a very subjective call. Sometimes it pays for itself and sometimes not. But, what it does provide is peace of mind.

When I bought my 2014 it had 2 months left on the BEST warranty. This is my 1st Spyder and I knew very little about it. I extended the BEST warranty for another 2 years and glad I did. Two dealer repairs for what I consider minor things more than paid for the warranty extension cost. I have usually been an anti-warranty extension. Most people are better served by putting the cost of the warranty in a dedicated bank account, adding the 50 buck deductible every 6 months or so. and celebrating their wise choice and new disposable money after the expiration of the warranty period. But, I was uneasy about the Spyder..... Just my experience..... It's a gamble that the insurance companies USUALLY win. Good luck

Sorry! I apparently forgot to register to the thread. I bought my 2016 on Friday, and the guy told me the warranty runs out in September, so I need to pick something soon. Thank all of you for the examples. I will check out each of those places online tonight.

As mentioned. An extended warranty is a crap shoot. The warranty companies make their money by not having to provide service--which is usually the case.

I have NEVER purchased an extended warranty for my Spyders. I got a FREE, two year extended warranty when I purchased my 2014. It expired in April of this year.

I have been VERY LUCKY. Never needed any warranty repairs on the five I have owned.

HOWEVER, when they happen, they can be very expensive. A multi thousand dollar repair bill can be devastating. One needs to keep that in the back of their minds, and contingency plans should be in place.

For awhile, I also had a $1,500 deductible on my car and bike insurance policies. When I quit working my day jobs, I went to $500 deductible. Have been hit once with that--when I hit the dog at highway speeds.

    Your situation may differ.

I started a "Zurich" Warranty" thread.

There is a lot of information on there. I'm also looking for an extended warranty after the B.E.S.T warranty expires next year.

I am also looking for suggestions.

    I have a 2014RTS-SE6

Yes, please let us know the competitive prices of the Quotes. I have a 2016 RT Limited that has 6 months left on the Factory Waurentee, and I am interested in getting a 3 year extension. But if the Dealer has to make the decision to repair and activate a Waurentee Issue, then that doesn’t seem worth it to me. My Spyder has been in the Shop now for over a month, with a failed Sprocket bearing I am told, and I still have not even been told if the repair is covered and when it will be fixed. Meanwhile, our Summer Travel Plans with the Spyder is gone, and the clock is running on my BRP Factory Waurentee during my not even riding it. As Spyder Owners, we don’t have very much Power, considering the limited Dealer Service and Support Network for Spyders in the U.S.., at least.

You need to lean on your dealer, or contact BRP Care directly and get this issue moving … brp.care@brp.com (I believe is the correct address). Provide BRP Care with your VIN and what dealer has the Spyder …. ask for their assistance in getting the issue resolved / moving forward. Note that one or two covered major repairs will pay for the warranty extension. Why your dealer is dragging their feet, I don't know … but it is NOT right that they do so.

Default Extended Warranty Worked for me!

I was on here two months ago with the dreaded "ESS FAILURE". Ignition module wouldn't read my keys. Took my 2014 RT-S to the dealer on a trailer. I had called BRP and they told me to have the dealer open a 'case'. Took a couple of weeks, but they changed the module and all is well. I paid a $50 deductible (extended warranty) and drove away. Dealer said the bill WOULD have been $800 without the warranty.

When I purchased my 17 F3L, I chose a Zurich policy. If memory serves me correctly, After some negotiation, my investment was $850 for a 7 Year period. That is $120/year.

Im guessing the cost of policies is influenced by whether the unit to be insured is new or otherwise. I have maintained an extended policy on all 3 of the Spyders I have owned. For better or not, in my experience, the cost the various repairs have far, far outrun the cost of the policy.

I was just going to ask the same question. My understanding is that warranties are considered insurance and is regulated by the state as such. You cannot buy extended warranties outside of Fla and Fla dealers supposedly must charge retail. If an out of State delaer sells it to a Fla resident I don't know if that just opens the seller up to liability or if basically the warranty is considered void/useless. I would live to buy one cheap from out of state if possible.
