Looking for some help My husbands 2014 RTS just threw and 'E" code and will shift into N and Reverse but not into 1st. Reset with Key and still no luck Cannot find the "E" on Spyder Codes. Anyone else experience similar problem.

I have not experienced the E code but according to the multifunction gauge message list on pg 144 of the operator's guide if N R are flashing and E is displayed instead of the selected gear it is a gearbox position sensor malfunction that calls for dealer repair. I believe the B.U.D.S. computer system must be used to complete the repair.

In your manual there is a procedure for moving the shifter.
The E code is covered in the "what's flashing at me"
It is a Gear Box Position Failure.
It may be the sensor is bad. wires are crimped or pulled, or the sensor may have shifted slightly

Thanks Roger for the info. He will be pulling out the Manual.

I have had the "E" code pop up a couple times while re-fueling. I surmised that it was because I was trying to boot up to fast after the fill.
Both times, a slow re-start (let the spyder--do its thing) worked well and I was on my way.
Turn key, WAIT for the mode screen to come on, hit mode button, start. All with foot on the brake. It worked for me. Hope it does for you.
If you re-start within 5 minutes, the Spyder usually bypasses the mode request.

E CODE
I agree it could be the gear position sensor but something similar happened to me two years ago not wanting to shift into first. It turned out to be the reverse actuator switch.

Yes it is the reverse actuator switch. I had the same failure too, same symptoms as the OP.

Thanks to all who responded to my HELP request
Gary loaded the RT in Reverse onto his trailer and headed to the Dealer tomorrow. Sounds like it could be one of two Sensor.
Thanks for all of your input.

I am curious to hear what the cause is. Today mine did the same thing. I shifted to "N", then hit the switch to shift to FIRST, it showed "E". But when I held the "+" button, it would finally shift to first. I recently did an oil and transmission filter change. Now I am wondering if it could be causing the problem. I might hook up to BUDS and do the venting procedure for the transmission filter to try a clear the problem. Would suck to get stranded somewhere.

I am a Gary as well and I just had this happen to my 2015 RT with less than 5000 miles. And it has been in the shop for 3 days tomorrow and the shop says they did not know the code and had to ask BRP to give feedback on the BUDS. We are a bit sad.
