Keep it Soft and Subtle
I use -- Glycerin --- just a smear -- around my old Porsche door seals for years. Keeping them from - drying out and cracking and staying subtle.
I now put just a smear around my rubber grommets of the push pins. You will like the difference, when pulling off the panel, and when replacing it. Available, at any drug store. Your welcome.g 1.jpg

Some also like to spray the grommets with windex or a water spray..
I think I'll try the Glycerin to help ease the prongs into the grommets. I have never lost a side panel, but suspect that those that have come loose, didn't get hooked at the top of the panel, or punched the grommet through the frame due to being dry and stiff. Either way, they should wipe clean pretty easily before new applications and reinstallation. Thanks for the tip..

You just don’t want them to be greasy or the panel could fall off. We spray Windex on them as it dries without leaving any residue

Yea - Supple ( Guess I don't get to use that word enough ) I could have said, Agile, Elastic, Limber, Pliable, Resilient, or Yieldig.
OR - just spelled it correctly.

The question is whether you're still supple enough to get out of that Porsche any more..?

One of the best of many excellent tips I've received from Ann and Joe.

otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

I may try glycerin; however there is a German product called "Gummi Pflege Stift" that is sold on eBay that also works great - I learned about this through Planet-9, the Porsche forum. The advantage of Gummi Pflege Stift is that it's a stick. No mess.

Hell, I used that back in the day on my new, ‘86 Goldwing for the same reason...I’ve used vaseline also. Glad that you reminded me...thanks.

I agree with Ann: it might be better to just give them a spray of water...
You don't want those expensive body panels coming loose!

For automotive seals, nothing better than Shin-Etsu grease, albeit more expensive than Vaseline
