High Mount Brake Light Attachment Failure
I bought a Show Chrome High Mount Brake Light (like the below pic) for my wife's new RT. Install went great and I used the included tape patches to install it. Per the instructions I cleaned the area carefully with alcohol before attaching it with the tape strips. All well for the first two weeks until the first rain. The tape immediately failed and left the light hanging by the wires.

Has anyone else had a similar problem and what did you use to fix it? My wife says no duct tape.

You will need to remove the tape and buy 3M Molding tape or outdoor auto two sided tape.
Clean off old tape and clean area with alcohol wipes then apply new tape. Try to do this on temps above 70 deg will help adhesion.
Auto parts stores will have this tape. Ex: OReillys, autozone.

I've got the same one. No attachment issues in 3 years so far. Need to use the 3m primer for best results.

3M Primer?

3M primer? Does that mean I need to repaint where I want to place it? Or is that something that promotes the tape adhesion?

Promotes adhesion. Looks like it took the wax off (maybe). I got the other high-mount light (all red) from somewhere else - I forget. It had the real 3M black tape. Rock solid. Get it at any parts store. You might need some GOO-GONE to really get all the old adhesive off. Then soap and water.

Have you contacted Show Chrome....or the place that you bought it ??
They might send you replacement (better?) tape for free.
The really good 3M stuff usually comes with primer.
